Just 10 mins ago when my next door neighbour's alarm stopped ringing! (no obvious intruders though, just in case you think me heartless)

We made a decision to move to be nearer my mother in law who has been laid low by a very serious stroke. We have spent the last week packing and have felt so bad about leaving our home that we told the prospective tenants that the let would be for the minimum term of six months. They walked out on the agreement three days before we moved out of our house and we have lost a lot of dosh in cancellation fees.

We have on the other hand a perfect excuse to say we will stay where we are, in the house that we rebuilt and made ours. We now have the prospect of emptying God knows how many boxes and putting everything back where it was.

Happy as a pig in shit - if you will forgive the saying.

So, yesterday was the glorious day the wife and me are together (not married! This would kill everything! I can't stand the idea to own anyone!) since 14 years. It occured to me this morning on my way to work, that I totally had forgotten about it. Feeling bad and guilty, I called her up in the lunchbreak. But before I could start talking to her she said "Yesterday was our 14th anniversary, Haha, I totally forgot about it."

Oceans of relief went down my back that moment.

I just had a phonecall to my mate Martin. Can you believe it: he got a job at Sauber Mercedes at Formula1!

Christ I have seen this kid battling so hard about a nine years to get there. A LOT of disappointments and crazy (definitely crazy!

) attempts. BUT: This afternoon he signed the damn contract to be a mechanic/programmer there. (Well, for one year first but he will make & expand it! Do it Marty, GODDAMMIT!!!

)

Mother of god, what an incredible day in his young life! Old fart Tommy feels SO happy for him! Think I need a drink now!

This is just feckin awesome!

Ten days ago I lost my wallet, cash, cards, driving license, the lot. Cancelled the cards and rang up DVLA for a replacement license but they wanted £20 (couldn't do it 'cause I'd lost my plastic) in total i was down £50.

Today I came in from the garden and found the wallet had been posted through the letterbox. Cash was gone, obviously, but the cards and driving license were still there. No idea who put it through the door but it proves there is at least one good person out there.

There are two good people. Years ago I was rushing through the Tampa airport to catch a standby flight. I hate flying standby. My ex loved to fly standby. One of the many reasons she is now my ex.

I dropped my wallet in the airport. Didn't realize it until I had arrived home in Atlanta and had already left the airport. Returned to the airport. They called Tampa and learned that someone had found my wallet and turned it in. It had about $300 US cash in it. Everything was there including the cash. They flew it up on the next flight.

My current happy moment of the day is 12 midnight. That's when I log out at work, shut down the computer and go home to enjoy my time.

I care for my old mum and look after two rescue cats.

For me the best part of the day is when I have got them all fed and happily in bed. The doors are locked, I'm in bed with a good book and another day's duty is done.

Then I think of my ex-fiancée and think "Thank God I'm shot of that worthless pile of shit" - Happy days.
