It's quite fascinating why anyone posts anything on the internet. What drives us to share, which, in many cases, involves breaking the law? And as we're burning the bandwidth we have to pay for, we're not just doing it for nothing - it's costing us.

I lurk in a few other forums, but this is the only one I actually post to.

A legal clarification.

If you do have material and you wish to share it and do not request for any payment or monies you are not breaking the law.

Hmm, I'm pretty sure that's not the case with copyright law in my country. I know there's "fair use", but I'm pretty sure posting an entire movie/TV programme breaks that.

I had just been reading an article on torrent freak about file sharing (specifically relating to Game of Thrones), and no-one mentioned this.

Can you cite a reference?

Why indeed

To avoid the pitfalls of paysites esssentially

You could join every paysite alive and never find half of whats on here

Thats the biggest failing of the adult industry - massive in size complete with the same material re-sold millions of times over but no co-ordination because they dont want you to see the bigger picture.

When i was joining sites 2000-2004 many had all their stuff on 1 main site

Ever since then they've been expanding to the point where you could be paying 10 subscriptions to follow 1 photographers material - the same material abounds on all of them - pure rip-off imho

Studio Pornstar sites - pathetic quality - again pure rip-off

Forums like this strip away everything and lead straight to the content with no deceptive practices which are rife on multiple levels,

- 2 tiered adult verification sites to name one - get inside and find you need to upgrade to get to the better stuff - which when inside turns out to be a better standard of crap
- a few sites aside

VOD sites (same scenes featured multiple times under different names)

Videos / Dvds - The use of big name softcore models on the cover of hardcore titles
No guarantees who your dealing with directly are actually legitimate

Compilations and re-using the same material - the ugly side bar none
It speaks volumes about those who use the same material but never mention it

Big name video / dvd sites who dont change titles or details when told that performer isnt actually on a film

Magazine covers that dont feature the main cover model

Thats before you get to the snakes in the grass that actually run these businesses
You go up against them with a chargeback for services not received and watch how quickly your banned across a multitude of billing companies worldwide with no comeback.

Whether your in the right or the wrong

Then theres the issue of actually purchasing goods online
The PC is well known as not being designed to handle transactions 100% securely
especially financial.The rise and rise of malware completes the circuit.

Why this forum indeed

I dont agree with some of the practices on pirate / sharing forums
ie - complete website rips for example

Might be illegal but its the lesser of the 2 evils by a long way

Even if this site didnt exist i'd still have online access as i did before these types of forums ever existed

3 dollars a day for whats online is a bonus not a cost

In the US, the FBI warnings about copyright violation at the start of DVDs specifically states that the penalties apply even if there is no financial gain for the violator.

I certainly agree with you there. About a year and a half ago, I joined c0vermod3ls.com. Now the photographer runs three sites (along with sh33rnudes.com and Micha3lStyck3t.com) which contain much of the same material. Many sets will start off on CM (the cheapest) with little to no nudity, and pick up on one of the others with more explicit photos on the other.

But what really galled me what that CM had so many dead links - probably around 30% of the site. And he was advertising those sets on the front page, which is essentially false advertising. I complained about all the 404s, and was told that professional hackers had deleted them. The six months I was a member, they were never replaced. The irony is that now those sets probably only exist "in the wild" and not on the paysite.

I post here because Greenman does, and he has an encyclopedic knowledge of the totty from my youth.

That, and because you can pick up some excellent tips on gardening, wine etc, all in the same place.

Also, I'm trying to count the number of different avatars beutelwolf gets through.

Probably like everyone else I came on here to find a few pictures that I could not find anywhere else.

After about 2 months of being a non member I joined. Never regretted it but probably much to the chagrin of the mods.

After joining I was a little bit wary of posting. But I eventually did and I am glad I have helped people to find what they are looking for just like I have. I hope to continue to help my fellow members. As for starting a thread. Been there done that never again.
