Also, the antagonist is an Elfqueen named Linnea. Had this been later in the 1980s, I would have thought she was named for Quigley.

Thing and Black Widow team-up. Another comic I found particularly sexy as a young man...well, really only this one page. I love how artist Bob Brown drew the Thing with his eyes covered, but with his fingers placed so that he is clearly peeking at Black Widow disrobing. I don't blame you, Ben. I would have checked her out, too.

Yep - my post features the cover I got earlier today (kudos to Gosh! Comics in Soho). If I see a variant Spidey #800, I might pick it up, but I just HATE "variant cover" comics...

But I digress:

I do, too, because there is usually one I like better than the main one, and the dealers charge more for them. I missed out on a recent Batgirl variant that is actually very beautiful and I would have gotten. Unfortunately, it is going for way too much money, now.

Oh, and a while back, I posted that I bought three variants of the same issue, just to get covers of MJ with her feet showing.

I did look at all the variants for Amazing Spider-Man 800 before picking out the one I wanted, although it turned out to be two. I did the same thing with Captain America 700 and Action 1000, although I wound up getting multiple covers of Action 1000, too.

Here is the Batgirl variant that I mentioned I WOULD have gotten if I had seen it before prices on it got out of hand.

If I were going to collect Vamperonica, I would have had to get the Amazing Spider-Man 101 homage.
