Tragic to hear of the untimely death of cricketer Philip Hughes, playing the game he loved and was exceptionally good at. He was making such a name for himself, and he still wasn't 26 years old!
My thoughts are with his family at this sad time, but please spare a thought for the distraught bowler, Sean Abbot, who delivered that last ball. I cannot begin to imagine how he must feel at this moment. So sad to hear of this. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...rkest-day.html Philip Hughes 1988 - 2014 RIP

Author and thriller writer PD James has died. She was best known for her policeman/detective series Adam Dalgleish(played by Roy Marsden)
Awful news about Phil Hughes. Seems to me that Cricket is getting a lot more dangerous what with broken fingers and this year in Stuart Broad's case, a broken nose, but this has highlighted the need for better protection for cricketers OR to outlaw bouncers completely. I really feel for Shaun Abbott-he is devastated by all this and it is no wonder he has been offered counseling by Cricket Australia. A very sad loss to the world of Cricket at such a young age.

Sad to post that a hockey legend has passed away.
Jean Arthur Béliveau died Tuesday night at the age of 83, the Montreal Canadiens said. He was born Aug. 31, 1931 in Trois-Rivières, Que., the oldest of Arthur and Laurette Béliveau’s eight children. Beliveau stood out on the ice because of his size, earning him the nickname of Le Gros Bill. He had a powerful, sweeping stride and tremendous stick-handling skills -- a combination that earned him 10 Stanley Cups in 20 seasons. After playing 20 seasons with the Habs, and earning the first Conn Smythe Trophy, Beliveau retired in 1971 as the team's all-time points leader and the league's all-time scoring leader. That fall, his No. 4 was retired, and the following year he was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. After his playing days ended, Beliveau remained with the team as an executive, having his name etched on Lord Stanley's Cup another seven times. When he retired, he established the Jean Beliveau Foundation, which was transferred to the Society for Disabled Children in 1993. In 1998 he became a Companion of the Order of Canada and in 2001 his name was added to Canada's Walk of Fame. He was named the honorary captain of 2010 Canadian men's Olympic Hockey Team. More Here
