I only have Google Translator for Firefox and UBlock Origin. That's it. And, I disabled U-Block and tried editing, and that still didn't work.

Use the Standard text editor instead of WYSIWYG, it's buggy.

WYSIWYG is the enhanced editor (what you see is what you get). You can change it in your control panel. I already did it for you.

firefail quantum and ESR versions are AWFUL.
I had to do a rollback and lost a fair amount of bookmarks etc. TURN OFF AUTO UPDATES AFTER EVERY UPDATE: so everytime you update Firefail? it turns auto update back on. Read about the update online before you update. I walked away for ten minutes and had quantum/// yikes. A fast browse online and people were pissed... I rolled back to the ESR version and it more or less works... but yeah. my two cents |

Note to anyone planning to update to the new versions of FF:
Grab a copy of FF 56.0.2 from the FTP address I listed earlier in this thread. Hopefully it's still there. I haven't looked lately. Save your bookmarks. It's easy. You can save them as an HTML file or a JSON file. [Bookmarks menu -> Show all bookmarks -> Import and Backup] In fact, go a step further and copy your entire FF profile folder to a safe location. It will normally be found here: C:\Users\[user-name]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[profile-name].default User-name is your Windows user name; profile-name is your FF profile name. Now all you need to do to revert to FF 56 is to uninstall the new version (getting rid of everything), reinstall 56, clear out the contents of the newly-created FF profile folder, and copy the contents of your old FF profile folder into the new one, which will most likely have a different name. (Same location, different profile-name.)

I wouldn't panic about FF anymore. Yes there were teething problems, especially
with the extensions, but everything seems to have settled down now, the updates are less frequent and everything seems to work as it should, and it's also faster. I'm using all the same extensions I used before, which I understand had to all be re-written. Noscript is still irritating to use, but now seems ok. |

No panic here - i no longer use it and wont be coming back anytime soon
Too many other better options using the same rendering engine that dont kill add-ons everytime they update For too long they've been playing a dumb game of developing the browser while ignoring the add-ons trying to catch chrome Down them all is still struggling to make a workable add-on He started in August 2017 (Lack of) Progress December 21, 2017 Sorry again, but I got a bit overwhelmed with/distracted by other stuff so could work less on DownThemAll! Lite than I anticipated, and I also keep running into limitations/quirks/bugs/idiocrasies of the WebExtension APIs (and sometimes HTML5 stuff as implemented by Firefox). So, even though I wanted to have something presentable by now, I failed my self-set deadline once more. While my development version can make *some* simple downloads already, there is still problems with other more complicated types of downloads that need e.g. special handling of headers. And downloading large files is still far from what I expect/want performance-wise. I’ll stop promising certain dates at this point. I will only promise that I’ll work as quick as possible. For the curious: I started writing the first bits of code back in late August and worked on it since then (of course not full-time, as it doesn’t pay my bills). Now the “big” to-do items are mostly done, and what’s left is to get all the nitty-gritty details and edge cases right, or at least right enough that I won’t be ashamed about the product. https://www.downthemall.net/ |
