Default Yvonne Monlaur

I just learnt today, via her blog, that french actress Yvonne Monlaur passed away on April 19. She was 79 old.
Countess Yvonne Thérèse Marie Camille Bedat de Monlaur was fashion model on her early years, but then best known for her roles in british horror movies ("Circus of Horror", "The Brides of Dracula"), italian comedies or french thrillers.
I loved her.

Her thread on VEF : here.
Her roles on Hammer horror movies : here, here & here.
A great lady.

I never met Jonathan Demme but I was lucky enough to work on a small project a couple of years back that his name was attached to and according to another guy on the project who did know him he was one of the nice ones in the film industry and master craftsman of his job.

It was an honour for me because Something Wild is one of my favourite movies which I think I shall put on this evening.

RiP Jonathan Demme

Re Leo Baxendale. I used to love reading the comics like Beano and Wham! etc and some of the characters have become legends like the Bash Street Kids and Minnie the Minx. I got into cartooning via comics which also included Shiver & Shake, Whizzer & Chips and the Beano. One of my schoolfriends had a load of Beano annuals and we used to regularly read them and have a laugh.

I've only recently sold my collection of 60s Beanos, Summer Specials and annuals. Needed the space.

Got a tidy sum I'm glad to say.

Wow at the three passing back to back like that. They had nice, full lives regardless.
