Just to put things in perspective.
I don't have an account, but regularly download from this site. Since it has changed, I have found that downloads are much faster I do have 72Meg download speeds, but this is for someone who doesn't even have an account. I use Google Chrome and I'm finding the free service great and don't mind the 10 minute wait between downloads. Why should I? It's free.

yes, I have a premium account ...fast as hell!
I am so happy that free users get a file in decent time...thats what we are all about, well I wish.... That other file hosters did the same...

Okay, I'm not an account holder, so this is an observation rather than a whinge.
However, I do find the service very erratic. Sometimes I can download a file at my maximum Internet speed. But on many occasions, it runs at about 800kps. Then there are times when it shows a relatively slow speed, but is actually transfering data at an even lower rate. I've no idea what's going on when this happens! I also find that the time restriction between downloads varies considerably. I have occasionally downloaded a couple of files or a series of linked files, one after another without any delay. More typically, it can take anything from 5 to 30 minutes, which is a bit of a pain when you are trying to download segments of the same video. |

For me recently (last couple of days) it has gone down to a snails pace from really hare like rapid. Have I reached some D/L limit, or could it be my ISP "unlimited" fair usage policy not being fair or unlimited.
ie. anyone else having really slow issues with 1f?

Me too. Down from 5 MB/sec to 0,2 MB/sec.

I've given up trying to download for the moment. It's just not practical at such low speeds and I had to abandon the last video after waiting several hours for it to complete and still having some way to go.

Three days ago, as a 1fichier unregistered user, I was downloading at a rate of about one 700MB file per 45-60 minutes. Suddenly, about a day ago, a similar 700 MB file showed an estimated download time of a little over 4 hours. I cancelled that download, went through the free registration process, and restarted the download. Now it takes approximately 2 hours for the same file (99.8 KB/sec). This confirms to me that is an intentional throttle-down of speed by the host. I am not adverse to paying for the premium service; I just need to replenish my pre-paid card to do it.
