First I could easily drop 250k between The Bass Pro Shop and a professional camera shop like Sammy's or B&H.

I just posted this in a thread on what you would do before you died:

"I would go on an extended Trout fishing expedition starting in Kamchatka and ending in California's Eastern Sierras. After spending however long it would take to catch a 30 inch Bow. I would move on to Alaska and work my way South and East fishing through the lakes and rivers in the Kamloops area of British Columbia. I would then work my way south back into the states fishing my way through Washington State, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and Utah. Eventually I would work my way back to the Eastern Sierras in California. If that didn't kill me I understand they have some pretty good trout fishing in New Zealand. Then maybe off to Scotland, any other ideas?. Just had one, Mongolia to fish for Taimen. The goal being to kickoff with a pole in my hands, a large fish on the end of the line and a on my face!

I want to complete the grand slam by catching a Rainbow, Brown, Brook and Golden. As well as Trout I would like to to catch as many of the salmon and related families of fish. To date I have only caught 2 types of Rainbows (basic stockers and a few Alpers Rainbows) and 2 small ( a little under 12 inches each ) Brown trout. The Alpers were between 12 and 16 inches and fought like hell on my ultra light tackle. The Browns also fought great for there size. Allot of work left to do.

BTW I don't fly fish so maybe somewhere along the line I might give it a try. A top water hit looks like a real rush.

So if I had a Billion thats how I would spend the first year or two minus the part about dying with a fishing pole in my hands. I would also do several photo trips, classic African Safari, the Amazon (both fishing and photography), S.Africa to photograph and cage dive with Great Whites and this one is a little odd but I want to photograph Spirit/Ghost Bears in the BC rain forest. While I am photographing white bears Polar bears can pose an interesting photographic chalenge.

I want to catch a Giant Bluefin Tuna. Not the little ones they catch of the Mass. coast as shown on the TV show Wicked Tuna but the really big ones, 1000+ pounders they catch around Prince Edwards Island Nova Scotia.

I am sure if I give it some more thought I could come up with more adventures but when the travel, fishing and photography ran its course I would like to set up a charity, a summer camp for inner city kids where they would be taught to trout fish and photography. I would send each camper home with fishing tackle, a DSLR with a couple of lenses, and a lap top loaded with photography and educational software. I would purchase land in the Owens Valley/Mammoth Lakes area to build the camp. Ideal location with tons of places to fish and a two hour or so drive to Yosemite Valley for day trips to use their cameras.

I came up with the idea in two parts. The first part came when I was working picking up a fare at LAX. My Passengers were diverted to Ontario (California) airport because a storm had stopped over South Central (right in the arrival path to LAX) and was dumping hail for several hours. The next morning I saw a report on the news in which they showed kids having a snowball fight with snowballs made of bb size hail. The reporter said most of the kids had never seen snow or anything like this before. I remember thinking how sad that was. From South Central you can be in the Angeles Crest National Forest in about an hour without traffic. For a kid to live that close but to never see snow I just thought it was sad.

Jump ahead 10 years and I am watching a Saturday morning fishing show on one of the sports channels and the host is taking his 12/13yo daughter out to fish with him. She was just killing it, landing everything she hooked and they were big fish. The look of pride on her fathers face was really cool, he was just beaming. I realized that at this point in my life I wasn't going to have children and would never know the pride that father felt. Again it was a feeling of sadness but then the thought of those kids playing with snowballs made of hail and the idea of a summer camp for inner city kids popped into my head.

I too thought of doing something for my neighbors. Like your ideas and would add to it the addition of solar panels to every inch of roof. If it wasn't enough to provide free electric it would certainly provide huge savings.

I lived most of my life in THE Valley and consider it home but if I had a Billion and wanted to stay in the LA area I would live near/on the coast. Maybe the South Bay, the coast side of the PV peninsula. THE Valley is too hot.

As for the cool toys I would have them keep a FRYS open after hours and drop 6 figures easy. Love those stores.

What do you mean bring back "bring back quality to the porn industry"? Are you talking about eroticism? Feature length pornos? Do you want to go back to having mind numbing music play during the sex scenes? Or is it the intellectually stimulating story lines you long for?

Quality Porn is an oxymoron. You can use the term quality to only describe the level of eroticism, in every other way porn is devoid of quality. The purpose of porn is to arouse, to sexually stimulate. Porn stars are sexual performers not actors. If they could act they would be making big bucks in the mainstream and not what is comparably chump change to expose themselves having sex and in some cases debasing themselves in the process.

Even if you could come up with a decent story/script and a non nauseating score you would still be stuck with sexual performers not actors. The industry has come to the realization that no one was watching the stories rather fast forwarding between sex scenes. It's hard to jerk off to crappy acting no matter how hot the actress is. As a political conservative I often find myself shouting at my T.V. telling Hollywood leftists to shut up and act, in the case of porn "SHUT UP AND FUCK!!!"

If you are able to create quality porn than good for you, you'll be the FIRST!!!
