hey guys, lets not underestimate our very own Brit champ (hah) Lennox Lewis.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lennox_Lewis This is not going to be a popular opinion, but I honestly think that Ali could not last 5 rounds with the likes of Lewis.

Boys & Girls
These are all great fighters and athletes from the professional field. Not to be forgotten : Leon Spinks with his surprise victory over Ali (one of the best fighters not just in the ring) in 1978.
But there are also legendary athletes in amateur sports. I call two of them. Teofilo Stevenson and Felix Savon (both technically perfect) and finaly also the girls : Regina Halmich and Laila Ali (tough girls) Absolutely no go's : Nikolai the nephilim Valuev, the one strike Klitschko brothers and Henry the chessplayer Maske. |

Prior to his retirement in February 2009 as Britain's only undefeated boxing world champion, Calzaghe was the longest-reigning boxing world champion of the modern era. He has a fight record of 46-0, 32 of which by TKO.
He defeated some great Boxers: Roy Jones Jr., Bernard Hopkins, Robin Reid, Chris Eubank, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ge2oCEH6NI |

There have been many boxers who could have claimed to have been the greatest of all time. Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto Durán, Thomas Hearns, James Toney, Marvin Hagler, Jake LaMotta, Sugar Ray Robinson, and Rocky Marciano. Victor Chavez, even the British ones Alan Minter, Barry McGuigan, Jim Watt, Ricky Hatton, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Joe Calzaghe,( not forgetting Henry Cooper who absolutely floored "The Greatest" Ali, only to be denied a victory because of the bell, & some sharp practise with the gloves by Angelo Dundee.)
What about Joe Frasier, George Foreman, & lets not forget Iron Mike an absolute brute of a Boxer in his heyday virtually un beatable before his head got mixed up. Floyd Patterson was a brilliant & elegant boxer & a master tactician. Everyone I've mentioned, were in my opinion all stars( & I'm sure you can & will be able to add more that I've missed) Everyone of them brought a different skill & style to the ring, & not forgetting raw courage. We of course will never know who was the best because of course we'll never be able to see them fight each other, so that has to remain a question open to debate. I personally do not believe Ali was the greatest, ( He was maybe the most charismatic )

George Foreman
George Edward Foreman (born January 10, 1949) is an American two-time former World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Olympic gold medalist, and successful entrepreneur. His most notable fights in his early career were his knockout against Joe Frazier in 1973 and his loss to Muhammad Ali in "The Rumble in the Jungle" in 1974. He later became the oldest man ever to become heavyweight boxing champion of the world when, at age 45, he knocked out Michael Moorer, age 26, to reclaim the title he held 20 years earlier. He has been named one of the 25 greatest fighters of all time by Ring magazine. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlxYPyEW5fs |
