From the ANIMAL KINGDOM episode, "Reap."

I got sucked into watching Animal Kingdom, the 2016–2022 TV show about Ellen Barkin as a kind of Ma Barker who directs her sons (and one grandson) to pull off heists (until they try to break free of her control). In the episode called "Reap," a woman came on screen, playing the mother of a girl who becomes the lover of the criminal grandson.



So this woman, well qualified to provide comfort for the eyes, was Amy Pietz, and what a putz I am for having no knowledge of her, despite having seen her in action on a good several occasions. This lady has had an impressive screen career, beginning in 1993 (when she was twenty-four). In only the next year, she landed a role in Star Trek: The Next Generation (as a lieutenant in an episode called "Bloodlines"), what she is probably remembered for more than many of her other vehicles, given the cult interest.

She must have rubbed the Hollywood movers and shakers the right way, because in just one more year (and only four years after graduating from her university's acting school) she landed a role as a regular in a bonafide television series. (Albeit a failure, but still a TV series.) In other words, she reached the big time in no time flat. Then, while juggling with various other TV shows and a TV movie, she really got lucky with a successful TV series, Caroline in the City, which she also began in 1995. (This one went on for four years, and Amy was in close to a hundred episodes. This translated to every single episode of the show.)

Now you see, I had watched some episodes of Caroline in the City, whose star, Lea Thompson, was an attraction. Amy played Lea's best friend. So Amy intruded on my radar, but she didn't register as a "whozzat?" lady.

As soon as Caroline ended in 1999, Amy found work as a regular on another series, providing her voice for ten episodes of a cartoon, and then was a regular in yet another TV series (she's not just getting roles on TV shows here and there, although she was getting those as well. Instead, she found work appearing as a series regular, which is tougher), the ill-fated Cursed, which was revamped (out of desperation, given poor ratings) as The Weber Show (as this page from the Mr. Skin site nicely summarized). I guess she played Steven Weber's love interest, and one episode put her best derriere forward:

The casting agents kept calling for show after show, and then in between 2004-2008, she appeared as a semi-regular in one television show (I'm with Her), and as a regular in Aliens in America and Rodney (two other shows I'm not familiar with; the latter was a big one for the lady, and she appeared throughout the entire series run). During this period, she appeared in (for her) a rare theatrical feature, playing a waitress in The Whole Ten Yards (2004), with Bruce Willis and the gorgeous Amanda Peet.

For the next twenty years, Amy appeared in a dizzying array of other stuff (her latest was a TV show called Wolf Pack, where she appeared as a semi-regular in the first four episodes), and I'm noticing a couple of shows I used to watch, such as Burn Notice and Dexter, where I must have seen her without becoming aware. It's not just theatricals that have evaded her during her career, but she hasn't been in too many TV movies either. One exception was Stalked by My Neighbor (2015), where she played half of a mother-daughter pair.

In 2023's WOLF PACK, the 54-year-old Amy Pietz plays the mother of one of the teens who gets bitten by a werewolf, played by Armani
Jackson; man at left is John L Adams, playing the husband/father. Looks like "Buffy," or Sarah Michelle Gellar, is in this series too,
playing a fire department investigator. (Sarah is now forty-six, which stinks.) The last two photos are from STALKED BY MY NEIGHBOR,
with Kelcie Stranahan as the daughter. The caps are from this trailer on YouTube, which viewers have griped has revealed everything.

With her "babe" days waning, naturally the "mother" roles began to increase, as with her part in Animal Kingdom from 2019. As another example, she played "Mom" in 2011's Prom. 2013's Zephyr Springs, A.K.A. Deadly Spa, is listed on the IMDb as a regular feature film, but turns out to be a Lifetime TV movie. Amy had a leading part as the mother again, where she and the daughter are at a weekend getaway, only to realize the owner is a murderous cult leader.

So now that we (or at least I) have a better idea about the actress, let's move on to what really interests us. When has Amy Pietz shed her duds?

I see this thread was begun in 2010 by Member "Rlg118," and it's a modest one; at least the members haven't ignored Ms. Pietz, so that accounts for something. Since Ms. Pietz has mainly appeared in television, her opportunities to get saucy were limited.



Once was in 2003 (at thirty-four), where she encounters two cops in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (episode called "Lady Heather's Box"), whom she thought were clients. In the scene, she gave the idea she wasn't really a hooker, but was being adventurous.






Maron, which I've never heard of (but it sounds intriguing) was a comedy that ran from 2013–2016, and its star plays a bitter and beaten man who seems to be on the verge of reviving his career as a comedian. In the last season's episode entitled "The 13th Step," Amy plays damaged goods who expresses interest in the show's hero. In the scene, Maron rebuffs her advances (his character is a dick, but he's a gentleman of a dick), telling her that she would hate herself later. Amy's character replies (last shot below, as she points to herself) that she already hates herself.










For this post's grand finale, the lady was cool enough to bare her lower intimate area at least once (later noticed this scene has been covered by Members "Moon Raker" and "King fisher" in the posts above, but the images were so dark, no wonder they slipped my attention), and that was in the "A Bunch of Hornballs" episode of You're the Worst, a series that ran from 2014-2019, and described as "two toxic, self-destructive people who fall in love and attempt a relationship."



Up until then, Amy got a little daring in Maron, and then in the next year (2017), she decided to go all the way. Not that we're complaining, but it's interesting how actresses hold off on the "nudity concession," and after they reach a certain age (Amy was nearly fifty), they say, "screw it," and finally let loose. (Or half-loose, in this case. Naturally, the golden rule for contemporary films and TV shows needed to be followed: In love scenes, women must always leave their bras on.)


Amy's character throws up..! (What a blow to the guy's ego. The actor was the show's star, Chris Geere.)




She vomits a second time on the floor. Most of us prefer women who lose control, but couldn't she hold it for another second or two,
on her way to the toilet bowl?




While I've heard of the "Mr. Skin" site, never had occasion to check it out; research for this post led to their nice write-up for the actress.
