Our summers are cooler by Lake Superior, but a bit offshore the humidity can crank up and we hit the 90s F once in a while even 103 once. We're not used to this at all after 7.5 months of wintery mix so a lawn chair and a series of cold beers of any flavor in the shade can be more than pleasant.

What is this air conditioning you speak of? Here, if the wind doesn't switch somehow to the north and fan the cool lake air, we must resort to our lawn chairs and shade or reside in the basement, always a damp, dark 48 degrees. Often, we wait until that fireball in the sky goes down although most know the earth is really moving out of its way.

Sitting on my deck at night in the summertime with a cold beer and a cigarette, just chatting with my wife about nothing at all.

I don't know if this is going to make sense to any of you brothers, but I always enjoy having a conversation with someone without it getting personal. I don't like when people ask too many questions about me, as I hardly ask personal questions. I don't like it either when they add other people's personal business to a conversation. I like just sitting around & talking about anything except that stuff. Sports, news, movies... anything but personal stuff. I always feel like I dropped some baggage & had fun after conversations about things, instead of people.

Another little thing I like is when I'm alone with a woman & she farts.

Not only is it funny, but it takes a lot of the pressure off. A brother can relax after that. No matter what dumb thing I might say to get me in trouble, I can always say, "Yeah, but remember that time when you..."

1, Speeding

down the highway with a warm wind and all windows open

2, The bowl of snacks next too my keyboard.

3, The first cigarette of the day

4, A plate of home made spaghetti or lasagna

5, The pizza delivery person knocking at the front door

6, A BBQ with friends, real friends

7, A bet, don't matter if I win or lose

8, The bush.........the real kind with trees and animals

not the kind VEF members think of.

9, A pair of Levis

10, An empty mail box, email included
