The Trumpeter 2019/2020 Catalogue has finally been properly released - highlights are extremely good news if you are a Royal Navy Fan - for the First time ever in injected plastic , we will get to add to HMS Belfast and HMS Exeter in 1/350 scale HMS Calcutta HMS Colombo HMS Naiad HMS Argonaut HMS Scylla and HMS Rodney / Nelson are still shown as being due to be released in 1/350 scale . |

Does anybody remember those tiny card kits that assembled into historic buildings? The kit? was about the size of bubblegum cards, snap them out and piss about with tabs etc to make a tiny model which was printed in the correct colours. For scale, Windsor Castle would fit under a wineglass bowl.

Very Fire
The Incredible good news from Very Fire Models ( of China )
( who produced the 1/350 Montana and all-new tool USS Missouri ) anyway the NEW Injection Plastic models planned for Very fire 1/350 HMS Renown ( first time ever in 1/350 scale ) 1/350 HMS Vanguard 1946 ( again , first time ever ) 1/350 HMS KGV ( to rival Tamiya and Flyhawk ( when it gets made in 1/350 Scale eventually as the first ever by Flyhawk as HMS Prince of Wales who specialise in high quality 1/700 kits ) 1/700 SMS Baden 1/700 SMS Nassau 1/350 Graf Zeppelin ( to rival Trumpeter's existing Kit ) 1/700 USS Midway 1945 and the biggest news , really , is 1/350 Aoba and above all IJN Aircraft-carrier 1/350 Taiho !! The Taiho was the largest purpose-built Japanese aircraft carrier and was similar in overall size to the United States Navy Essex class ships. However, the Taiho had two-story hangar decks and was the first Imperial Japanese Navy carrier to be constructed with an armored flight deck. The Taiho's design was developed from the Shokaku and she incorporated a number of features not found in that ship. Most notable of those was the sponsoned-out island with a trunked-in angled out funnel. The Taiho had a "hurricane" bow plated up to the flight deck level - a feature that the Essex class would not have until the 1950's. The Taiho's dimensions were 832.5 feet long overall with a beam of 91feet and a draft of 31feet 3 inches. The flight deck measured 863 feet long and 98.5 feet wide and she displaced 37,720 tons full load. She could carry as many as 85 aircraft but in actuality she carried about 60. As advanced as the Taiho was, she had only a brief career. She was completed in March 1944 and after her shakedown cruise was deployed to the Battle of the Philippines Sea. On June 19 she was hit by one torpedo from the submarine USS Albacore. Several hours later she suffered a massive fatal explosion when fuel vapours ignited, probably due to negligence or poor damage control procedures. Taiho is the IJN carrier that no-one has ever produced in 1/350 scale - so this is highly looked forward to being made and produced ( I would buy it ) |
