Some fun facts etc about Jeanie:

1. She was one of the first famous people to wear a charm bracelet, made for her by a fan ( I believe.)

2. She dyed her pubic hair, too. Apparently, she would flash the press just to prove this fact, and even plucked out a curl or two for a few very lucky fans!

3. Was recently voted one of the greatest female stars in Hollywood history.

4. She was only 5"2! And her eyes were green.

5. She was the first film actresses to feature on the cover of LIFE magazine.

Some clips from the Film, Girl From Missouri(Just wrote all about how shocking this was from a 1935 film, and then saw it came out in 1934!)
After July 1934, you just didn't see women prancing around in lingerie like this! Plus, check out how much of her side and hips you see is the first outfit! I think you can get a hit of underboob from the side as well. This came from a broadcast I recorded in the 90's, so not as sharp as it would be from a broadcast today, or a DVD, naturally. Still worth checking out, IMO. Shoot, even Patsy Kelly gets down to her undergarments, who didn't want to see that?

Here is Jean Harlow in the scene required from the movie 'China Seas'. This has been shown on UK TV more times than I have had hot dinners - usually as the matinee on Sundays funnily enough. This film dates from 1935 so is truly 'vintage' and as that is a long time before I was born I had to carry out some research for this clip. I have posted an extended clip as we not only get to see Jean's pokies in the original scene but also get a quick but clear view of her pert nipples poking through her wet top in a later scene - after she has got wet and is sitting down, being offered a towel to dry herself. I thought that the US cinema was censored by the Hays Code in this era so I don't know how these scenes passed!
