* how to easily fix a centrefold that has come loose *

Hi

This might help folk that are annoyed that the centrefold has come
loose from the magazine - the easiest way to repair
it is to firstly get sellotape and cut off two short sections
then turn the centrefold page round so that the inside pages show
then fix the two bits of tape where the staples used to be
( so when the page is turned round again , you can't see the tape
( and it can't discolour with age much , much later - and spoil the view )

then make the staples sit up from the inside of the magazine -
using fine scissors or a clean small flat sided screwdriver

take care not to tear the pages take your time -
have the staple ends upright like a ' U ' -
then punch the staples through the centrefold original holes
having pre-drilled the holes with a pin
- taking care not to be out and lose your original alignment

then ,when happy, fold down the staples again using any flatsided instrument

I recommend you try using an old magazine or newspaper supplement
to hone your skills - this also will allow you to easily re-sell a magazine
if you require in the future

And to really improve things, laminate it on the visual side before you tape it back in......the next buyer will sure be grateful for a wipe clean surface to his centrefold.

Rather than just sellotape, try the invisible variety; less intrusive, no gloss and can even be scanned and photocopied.
