One Suggestion for VEF

I have always wondered ... would it be possible (and reasonably easy program vBulletin) to have a message appear if members receive a Friendship Request?

For example, individuals could receive a notice like the pop-up we get when we have received a Private Message.

Thoughts?

You get an Email and a message on your user CP, what more do you want

Actually, I don't get either of those, rotobott.

Why send an e-mail instead of a personal mail here at VEF? (Nobody from VEF e-mails me and they have no reason to--why should I ever look there?)

And, I know of no other simple way to see if there is a pending Frienship Request. The fastest method seems to be:
1) Click on User CP and wait for the page to load;
2) Click on Contacts & Friends and wait for the page to load;
3) Click on View All Friend Profiles and wait for that page to load, then scroll to the bottom.

Am I missing something simpler?

A member clicks that he/she wants to befriend you. At the top of the CP page you will see a message telling you this. You must provide a valid e-mail to join. I get an e-mail telling me the above. Only the mods/admin will see your e-mail address

As for waiting for your CP to load, define waiting

Sorry, not taking the piss, it comes up instantly for me, but maybe the internet where you are is really, really slow.

I hate getting PM's myself, usually means I'm in more bother, but I wish you all the best in your endeavours to get the Vbulletin code altered

Thank you billybunter, I found that message now.

(The message is in a font in a dark colour and was camouflaged in the dark bar of VEF's colour theme, making the message virtually invisible.)

Yes, but why should I need to look at that one e-mail account (of 12 or more accounts in today's world!) to see if there is a VEF e-mail--if I am logging in at VEF and can see my Private Messasges and get notified if there are new ones?

I have been a member for some time and I still have that confirmation e-mail

... But, like I said before--there is no reason why anyone at VEF will ever need to e-mail me so why should I look there for VEF e-mail?

Pop Up? What pop up when we get a private message?

I don't get one, all I get is the number next to where it says private messages at the top right of the page.
Am I missing out on something here?
