I think it's a shop now, although the old green tiled exterior has survived. Horrible pub, always steered well clear.

'Trick or Treat?' or if truthfully expressed in legal terms 'demanding with menaces' aka 'extortion with threats'........

An NFL game will be played today in London in about 8 1/2 hours (1630 your time or 4:30 pm).

Do many Brits actually buy tickets to go to it?

It's between the Tennesse Titans and the San Diego Chargers.

I feel sorry for both teams especially for the Chargers who are from California.

The time here will be 9:30 am Eastern time and California is 2 hours behind which makes it 7:30 am Pacific.

That's asking the San Diego Chargers players and staff to get up at 5 am California time (including getting to the stadium to warm up and plan the game and other pregame things) and go play a professional football game.

Heck, I am in the USA in Central time which makes the game starting time at 8:30 am.

I can tell you even I won't be up at that time to watch it.

It's also going to be getting a bit chilly by that time in the afternoon. Not a really cold day today but will be colder than those teams will be used to.

Personally, I have no interest in what we call American football - but I have a couple of friends who have attended matches in the past. Not sure it will ever become a big draw here as we have rugby union which is not entirely dissimilar.

Couple of corrections: It is the Los Angeles (aka Spanos Family) Chargers; and the team stayed in Cleveland to practice after their last game instead of returning to the West Coast, so theoretically shouldn't suffer any more from jet lag than Tennessee.

Unless you're joking this could mean that the English people have become the meanest, nastiest people on the Earth. It's not your fault. First your nations are practically destroyed by the Nazi terror during the war, then your economy goes into the crapper. You're leaders now don't give a hoot for anyone and then there is this Brexit thing. No wonder all of you are so messed up, but to take it out on the children during Halloween. EeeeeeeeeeeYaaaaaHhhhhhhhh!:ma d:

Actually Hallowe'en has got bigger thanks to you lot across the pond and all children are now accompanied by a responsible adult(or should be) but the problem is some people don't want to be bothered by the little perishers anyway. If you want to have people traipse up to your door for sweets(which in an age of obesity isn't odd that parents still let their kids fill up on copious amounts of sugar?) then fair enough, but their is a more sinister element sometimes and some people get a firework through their door for heir trouble -it's a menace. When I was young we bobbed for apples in a bowl and that was fun, now it's become over commercialised and a waste of money.
