I was once in a delegation to an old Russian republic. Each night someone was invited to dine with the hosts and we had to give them the next day off work to sober up. How can they consume so much neat spirit ?

I'm not saying anyone can do it, but some can drink all day, if they want to. The secret is to have a glass of water at the same time -- if you drink enough water, you won't feel anything like as drunk. I've done it myself, and it works

Former NBA player Chris anstey was being interviewed on radio about his career last week. His time in Russia was a topic. Outside of training and playing, all he did was stay couped up in his apartment because you can't do anything in -40. You can walk to you car and that's it. It's why he took a pay cut to return to play in Australia, despite the Russian league being really good and having lots of success there.
