At least Quintana climbed onto the podium. Still disappointed.
Van Garderen all but completely gave up. He didn't even seem to be there to help Porte. Good day for France -- finally getting a stage win and at least getting someone on the G.C. podium. |

|Very worrying about Froome, he looked OK, sounded as if he was going on, but the official GC did not show the top fifteen and no pic of Froome in yellow till at least an hour after the stage finished, hope he makes Paris he has been the best rider this year, and has worked hard to win over the French public, by being genuine!

At least Bardet.
Great winner this year, Froome number one. No contest. |

Last year he was 2nd up until stage 14 and still held 3rd after stage 16. He abandoned early in stage 17 due to illness and had actually been fighting that illness for the last couple of stages. If he hadn't gotten sick, there's no telling what would have happened. In 2012 he was 5th overall and won the best young rider competition. In 2014 he also finished 5th overall. He doesn't have it this year but until a couple days ago, he was still in the hunt at least. Last edited by fordprefect739; July 23rd, 2016 at 09:55 AM.. |

Sick as a PARROT!
I have just realised, well yesterday actually, that there is a constant update on the Tour website of GC! Been using it today it is well worth it! Just wish I had known before! http://www.letour.com/le-tour/2016/u...fications.html |

A bit of medication and TLC for the little chap and a lot of Life's disappointments might never have happened. I've enjoyed the last couple of days, superb racing from all in wet and dry conditions but one thing is really starting to p*ss me off. Gary Imlach on ITV4 constantly droning on about the boring Team Sky train and how it's strangling the race. No it isn't, Gazza. Froome's team is doing a great job and if you ignore the Yellow Jersey contest the race for podium and GC positions is thrilling stuff. On another note, Gazza's (I hope he finds that annoying ) co-presenters have been very good, especially Jens Voigt, but Chris Boardman is sadly missed.

I rarely use the expression, being a fanatical supporter of avian equal rights!
I totally agree with the above, Sky have attacked and took the race by the scruff of the neck when the other teams sat up and did little they attacked, Froomes attack to take the yellow was astonishing, brave and took the race there and then, instead of relaxing he fought on, won the uphill time trial, and a four minute lead. In every stage the Sky train have shepherded him, been there for him and supported the ethic. A great Tour! Froome has, I think won the crowd over as well, there was a huge cheer when he crossed today, as you would expect for the final day yellow jersey, so different from last years behavior. Lastly Yates, great ride from the youngster, but the ten seconds, although technically correct was daft! Had the flam rouge not collapsed on him, he might have beaten Quintana, but that penalty made it almost impossible, come what may. But a great talent for the future, as long as he stays away from Team Sky! See Cavendish! |
