Chinese Super League in crisis with 13 clubs set to forfeit involvement next season due to unpaid salaries

Quote:
Thirteen Chinese Super League clubs could be forced to forfeit their participation in the competition next season after failing to pay their players properly.
The clubs in question have been told they must settle their arrears by August 15 and send proof to the Chinese Football Association (CFA) or face being denied entry to the league.

Article goes on to say Tevez is on £615,000 per week.
Altho' he isn't being paid...

I've got my ticket for Tottenham vs. Manchester City in Nashville, TN this Saturday in The International Champions Cup and I'm getting excited. It looks like the very hot weather we've had here in the south might take a little break for the game so that should help the boys out. It's been in the mid 90's F here for the last 2 weeks or so with some powerful thunderstoms rolling through almost each day. But Saturday is only supposed to be in the mid 80's F around game time which is like a cold snap to us this time of year

$100 for a pre-season friendly which will be played at walking pace at those temperatures? You do realise these 'tournaments' are just a replica shirt selling exercise?

Don't know if anyone has been watching the Women's Euros. Pretty good so far but the goalkeeping has been shocking. It's the weakest part of the womens game. Two more awful mistakes in yesterdays games.
As this is a porn site I'd better report that, in my opinion, the Dutch, Swedish and Icelandic teams are by far the best looking.

Of course I do but gimme a break here, I'm a football virgin. When will I ever get the chance again to see 2 English Premier League teams that I watch on the weekends, playing only about 90 minutes away from me?

Somebody at work asked me yesterday what I was doing this weekend and I told them I was going to Nashville on Saturday to see an exhibition football match. They asked me, "have the Titans already started their pre season games?"

I had Tennessee Titans season tickets for 9 years so I know all about the pre season game business.

If you are sat next to a Spud who tells you he/she can remember seeing Tottingham win the league, can you be kind enough to go and get their snacks and drinks for them. Because that person will be very, very, very old.

Hope you enjoy the game.

The pre-season is like international friendlies

A time to gel new players into the team , try different combinations
get match fit and above all else dont get injured.

If we're talking over priced purchases - kits for babies

Among the ‘worst offenders’ in our survey are Tottenham who charge £42 for a baby kit (0-24months) closely followed by North London rivals Arsenal who sell their’s for £38 ( 4-12months).

Manchester United and Chelsea are asking £35 for their tot’s outfits.

While Manchester City charge £33 and Liverpool ‘just’ £30.

The official England baby kit cost £38 from the Nike website

Replica football shirts rip-off as fans pay 1,000% mark-up on cost of manufacture

A Premier League club shirt sells at an average £49.45 but costs less than £5 to produce - with clubs only making £3 per top

research by sports merchandising expert Peter Rohlmann shows that once manufacturers, shops and the Government have taken their share, the club is left with £3.

MLS rejected $4 billion media rights deal requiring promotion/relegation

I do not think you would ever get owners in an American league to agree to any system that includes relegation - they'd have to work too hard and spend too much money then...
