I'm convinced Dubie is correct. Aside from physical features there is a matching ring in some of the pictures in post #1 in her thread.

I would have thought this was an even better comparison with mystery: Nose, areolae, eyes... but seems mods had doubts after burpman's suggestion. |

My comment was not meant as a criticism--more perhaps opening the conversational "space" for mods. to say where their doubts lay.
I quite understand the pressure of time. It's quite understandable if things need to be deferred for the next day, or the day after that. What's less understandable is what means mods have for so managing their precious time--that is, it's over 2 weeks since burpman's post, so this "next day" methodology is obviously not working. Again, that's not a criticism of mods. per se, not of people, but simply highlighting flaws in whatever systems (organisational) are currently being applied. |

What's important to understand is it is not the function of the Moderators to provide proof for a solve; this is up to the members who wish to participate. If we are not sufficiently convinced at the time the thread will be left open until convincing proof is provided. There are times when one of us may be familiar enough with a particular model to approve a solve even if the evidence is wanting. Or we may have adequate time or interest to investigate further ourselves but this is not our obligation.
It is the function of the Moderators of this section to maintain order, to adjudicate based on provided evidence, and to perform subsequent actions as necessary. |
