Donald Trump seems to have a limited understanding that the ideals expressed in the Declaration of independence, the novel experiment of republican government embodied in the Constitution, and the freedoms guaranteed by the Bill of Rights and subsequent amendments, are precisely what made this country great. Kneeling to protest that we are falling short of our ideals is an act of patriotism and an affirmation of belief in those ideals. Rich, greedy, and selfish people who hold themselves above the law and foster corruption are a plague in all nations. Trump celebrates that corruption and privilege. He regards us honest, law-abiding, and hard working folks as "losers" and people of colors as inherently being criminals.
Personally, I find it appalling that a person like this has been elected president, but am somewhat heartened that the Founders efforts to contain the damage of this eventuality seem to be working. |

Here's some history to keep in mind.
--The United States Football League was created with the idea of establishing a new league to compete directly with the NFL. --One of the most affluent of the USFL teams was the New Jersey Generals. --The owner of the New Jersey Generals was Donald Trump. --Donald Trump ignored the salary cap so he could sign big named players like Herschel Walker and Doug Flutie to the Generals. This hurt the financial stability of the smaller teams who couldn't match the money. --Donald Trump also pushed the USFL to switch from the spring/summer schedule to go up directly against the NFL in the fall. --The USFL couldn't compete with the success and popularity of the NFL, and the league collapsed. Trump lost millions. --Trump then turned around and sued the NFL for having a monopoly. He lost the case. As of last week, Colin Kaepernick was no longer playing in the NFL and only about 10 players were either kneeling or raising their fists while the national anthem played. Well until he opened his yap at another campaign rally. Do you really think Donald Trump cares about veterans, the flag, or patriotism, or is he using the office of the president to try to hurt the NFL financially--something he was unable to do as the owner of the New Jersey Generals? Not that the man has show himself to be petty and self-absorbed. I find waving Nazi and Confederate flags FAR more disrespectful to America than guys silently "taking a knee". And meanwhile thousands of American citizens in Puerto Rico look for a word from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue...

Has he accomplished anything but make the media outlets rich, who were going out of business under Obama besides get one supreme court nominee in with his majority?
It's like Obama's system is still holding the country together, and he's still on the campaign trail fighting with everyone daily so he accomplishes absolutely nothing. So far he's doing all he can to hurt his own party by his antics, can the dems hold out and take something from him in the mid-terms to make him a lame duck. What I don't get is why don't Ryan and McConnell find a way to impeach him? Pence with those two would be repealing the entire safety net by now. It only dawned on me that Trump created a sh*tstorm and controversy at a time when the Republicans in Congress were trying once again to sneak through a bill depriving millions of Americans of healthcare coverage and diverting attention from the failure to provide disaster relief to Puerto Rico.
Why is it that a big controversy is raised over the method chosen to protest, or the relative affluence of the commentator, and the real issues of police brutality, racial injustice, and corruption in the criminal justice system get shoved aside? Trump wants to talk about "disrespecting the flag" or "what the nation stands for." Looking at Trump does the country stand for avoiding military service in war time, bigotry and racial discrimination, reneging on contracts, serial philandering and sexual harassment, and tax evasion? If so, perhaps more of us should be protesting. |

But let's give Trump his due for pardoning Joe Arpaio. Company Profits Biggest in 13 Years The dollar is down in part because President Donald Trump’s economic agenda has stalled, especially tax reform, said Walter “Bucky” Hellwig, a senior vice president at BB&T Wealth Management, who helps manage $17 billion. A weaker greenback helps overseas revenue by making American exports cheaper while also increasing the dollar value of foreign sales. Last edited by Baxter49; September 27th, 2017 at 02:34 AM.. |

@Deca....
You fishing ? Are you saying that these results, many of them feeding through from last year's fiscals.... ...ARE the result of 7/8 months of Trumponomics? You will see results of Trumponomics next year, your references would also enhance a Hillary Presidency, that she wouldn't have owned either ~ ~ these are the THE Residuals of Obama Economics...not Trump's Meanwhile the pollution increase reporting has been curbed, as the EPA winds down, increases Bodyguard protection to 24/7 for Scott Pruit. Quote:
Left Right and Centre...TRUMP has created a NEW SWAMP ~ ~ imo Greedier and Faster than ever existed before. NOW...we have Kushner and Don Jr using "private Servers" for EMails.... ~ ~ jeez, what was Trumps' second anthem in the Election ? ? ~ ~ Hillary should be imprisoned for having a private server. There you go, ...and as he said today...it's a big, BIG.... OCEAN to Puerto Rico...no Trump Golf Clubs there, apparently |
