Seriously though, I can identify with you, rosestone. My wife was a big sister and I was a little brother, so I'm wondering if that contributes to an unhealthy dynamic (not that everyone's big sister had a rage-aholic streak).

I had a happy childhood , and read a lot in my teenage years ( mostly military History ) -
but freely admit I was a bit slow on the sexual or girlfriend front

I read a lot of War Comics as a kid ( Warlord then only Battle Picture Weekly )
so much so , that my MUM threw out my comics collection when I was 10 or so !
as I was becoming ' war mad ' - I could have killed her at the time !

Okay and here I tell a totally true story
I was so backward and sheltered from real life - that I never knew what was between a woman's legs until my mates discovered a stash of porn in the Local Public Park
- I was astonished to see a vagina and hair ' down below ' and the female black-haired model ( whom I would dearly like to rediscover - that's my holy grail ) was sitting facing forwards straddling a red slatted chair facing the wrong way round ( backwards ) - and of course , like the idiot - I didn't look at the Title of the Magazine
and my dear friends ripped up all the magazines - destroying them totally (sigh )

( I was too interested / obsessed with my studies - when I was at secondary school and unemployment was 3 million and not getting any better - so that had an impact on me ) , I only got my first girlfriend at age 17 and lost my virginity in that year
I did get a lot better after that period ! - I hasten to add ..

so I could say my obsession with Rachel Broome of Mayfair ( the first Model I saw that I had a real crush on when I saw her - and could accurately remember back in 1976 ) and my collecting 1970's Porn Magazines starts from that event from that time in the Public Park in the Scottish Borders then ..
I also have never enjoyed hard-core magazines , since I was 12 or 14 and I also came across on a Spanish Holiday , a Spanish Hard-Core Gay Magazine in a Field , showing a guy sucking a male member - that turned my stomach to this day - and I threw the damn thing away .

I also have a cautious nature and don't readily take risk unless I have calculated things ( a symptom of studying Military affairs ) which has helped my in my working and private life .

I also lost my Mother to Pancreatic cancer 2 weeks before my wedding - in 1997 , and she was only 57 , so that encouraged me to enjoy life more and make the most of every day

I also freely admit 2016 was really shit for me , with hassle at work ( off sick with stress for 5 months ) and I decided at age 50 to bail out and take early retirement and a pension -
the HR Dept at my old work harassed me over trivia ( and it WAS trivia - I swear to god )
so I got out of a situation that was not going to improve ( when in trouble - get out )

However , and a number of months later , despite paying off the mortgage , due to the rise in the cost of living etc - in which I decided to go self-employed and commute where needed - which was the best decision I have ever made - as its gives me
( 1 ) Great Money ( 2 ) I Got back my self-belief and self-esteem ( 3 ) I stopped thinking about the horrific time last year and ' being a failure ' ( 4 ) I used the spare time to better effect
as I concentrated on my hobbies , Comics , and collecting

It ain't nice to admit , but I will say it , if you have EVER suffered from Depression or a Mental Health Problem , see a Doctor and for god's sake get signed off sick - and take Temazepam so you can get some - sleep
( this also applies if you get a Housing Title Deeds Dispute - or Boundary Dispute
this is not a nice thing , and I was lucky mine was cleared up in 3 months in 1999 )
- I admit I was never more depressed than a week after I went off sick - not nice

so anyone that has this problem , you have my total understanding and genuine sympathy ( you find out who are your real friends I assure you )
in summing up , the VEF forum has been one of my best ever decisions to join

I'm the way I'm, because I think that life can be so easy to manage, if we all followed fair principles.

I always disliked violence, privileges and injustice.

I don't get anything about the fact that the collectivity grants privileges to deserving members who deserve them, but it must be agreed and not self-appropriate.

I sadly became disillusioned since I was a teenager.

Well, I'm pretty sure I know the way I am. More strong than weak, more good than bad. Average height, average looks, average physical ability, average ambition. I can handle some things very well and some things not well at all. I like to think I've got better-than-most judgment and wisdom, but I may well be on the upper end of some developmental/emotional disability spectrum. To me, I'm these things due to genetics, childhood upbringing, and just plain luck, good and bad.

An interesting topic and yes, I've seen a therapist to discuss this very subject. Thanks.
