WASHINGTON — Bernie Sanders is campaigning for president again, officially entering the crowded 2020 Democratic presidential field on Tuesday with a vow to finish what he started in his last race for the White House.

"Together, you and I and our 2016 campaign began the political revolution. Now, it is time to complete that revolution and implement the vision that we fought for," Sanders said in an email to supporters and a video announcing his candidacy.

So first Elizabeth Warren, then Bernie Sanders; and we heard the rumours that Hillary is considering another attempt. There seems to be a generation gap between people such as these and the next cohort, such as Kamela Harris and Cory Booker, who are also running. There's not a lot of talent available in the Democratic Party who have sufficient high level experience and yet are not well over retirement age.

I Say that it's going to largely depend on what happens in the primaries. Trump is still going to have to contend with the fact that the economy has not been good for vast portions of the electorate, just like Obama. The Democratic candidate that can bring out the Young end the working-class will be the one that could run away with the election in a landslide...

This is not unusual. Largely because of the U.S. pattern of electoral cycles, there are wide gaps of time between political "generations". For example, no one born between 1924 and 1946 was elected president.

Also one might refer to John Kennedy's inaugural address in which he refers to the fact the he was the first president born in the Twentieth Century, elected in 1960.
