No. I'm a strong believer after I visited the secret Vatican library and read the eternal and conclusive answer to the dogma of the Holy Trinity, the suffering of Christ, the Virgin Birth, and why there is something rather than nothing. Sorry, can't tell you though. Vowed to silence...

The temporal immortality of the human soul, that is to say, its eternal survival after death, is not only in no way guaranteed, but this assumption in the first place will not do for us what we always tried to make it do. Is a riddle solved by the fact that I survive for ever? Is this eternal life not as enigmatic as our present one? The solution of the riddle of life in space and time lies outside space and time. (It is not problems of natural science which have to be solved.)

My Father was (and is) a Baptist preacher. He required me to read the bible front to back. This made me not believe in his or any other religion. I ask that someone prove God to me without using the word faith.

Cool

No! While I think we can all atleast agree that life and the reason for our existence is a mystery, I like to keep the possibilty of a higher power with a plan in the end, open! Yes, I wan't to believe and try to keep the faith, but, thats really as far as I go with it!...I don't go to Church, read the Bible or let others tell me what I sould or should not believe!

I've always thought the smartest answer when asked where you stand in the war between science and religion is to say I have my views but I choose to keep them private.

Having never read any religious books from cover to cover that I can actually remember
i'm probably not qualified to say i do or dont believe anyway.

In the same way that I hear the universe started with a big bang except my level of education means I'm relying on others to explain exactly how that works.

Sounds all very much like how religious texts were in a language only a coverted few could interpret so they required others to explain it.

Either way both require faith in this respect so I choose to simply ignore both and just get on with living...As my self made Uncle says all too often dont worry about the things you have no control over

Atheist, Me Never

See, I like a gamble now and then,
Now, a safe bet would be to not be an atheist, I figure, when I pass on, if there is no God, I won't know the difference and it wouldn't have mattered if I believed in one. But, if there is one and while I was on this planet I spoke out against him, I've got an eternal penalty to pay. I like winning bets, so for me, there is a God..........only I'm gonna have to explain being a Mod on this forum ..........Think I'll just tell him I'm spreading the word to the non believers

Ok, but you have to choose the right God, you know

What if he asked you why you didn't get part of your johnson amputated, pray five times a day, or go to Mecca once in your life?

Hedging can be more complicated than it looks, Comrade
