There is an absolutely gorgeous nude black and white of Betty White when she was about 20 going around, wonder if it was suppressed during her later TV and film career. I'm sure there are nudie and porn pics and films of celebrities and other high profile people out there. These people are no different than any of us, really, and how many regular Joes and Janes out there have played Naughty C.B. Well... One of the earliest mainstream-movies showing nudity in color is The Great Sacrifice. It was shot in 1942/1943 and released to cinema in 1944. In one scene, Kristina Söderbaum shows her bush and nipples though it wouldnt be necessary to tell the story of the movie. Söderbaum was quite a star in germany.
You have to watch careful to spot her bush, while her nipples are very boldly visible for several seconds.

I have seen "A Free Ride" and it's quite... educational. :-)

I admit I was genuinely shocked to see that it contains pretty much everything you would expect from all but the most modern hardcore porn. Naturally the film stock has degraded and things are rather fuzzy, but you can see exactly "what's going on" and it doesn't hold back.

In answer to the obvious question; yes, it is titillating. But be warned: You may get a funny feeling like I experienced when, all of a sudden, it dawned on me that I was gazing appreciatively up the anus of a woman who almost certainly died of old age before I was born...

Many years ago, I was told by a very good source that during the late 1950s, maybe early 1960s, a well-known producer made several very high quality 35mm hardcore films at one of the big UK film studios in Elstree. Despite being completely illegal at the time, these were apparently shown occasionally to members of the film industry elite at special private viewings.

It was said that a couple of well know actors/actresses appeared on screen, but that's all I know. I'm inclined to think the story was true. Any VEF members in the film business know anything about this?

Old film has been going downhill for some time. Vinegar syndrome will eventually eat them up if they are not archived or in cold storage.

Film editors.

Virtually every movie made in Europe and distributed throughout the U.S. is edited to make it "acceptable" to localities. Likewise, most movies made in the U.S, for general release have several versions still, now usually one for release in the North and a different, much more edited version for release in the states of the old Confederacy.

The reasons are not always just to remove sexual content, but political as well. Anyone curious about how that system worked in the 1930s should watch Amazon's new version of "The Last Tycoon". It still works that way.

It's one of the reasons why some Americans believe that socialism doesn't work.
