What If Your Own Daughter Was In Porn?

I would be horrified. I don't have a daughter, but if I had one and she was in the porn world I would probably have a heart attack.

I kind of feel sorry for the families of women in porn. However, a good percentage of them come from broken families so I guess it's not quite as bad as coming from a close-knit family.

What you aren't looking at is that most porn actresses start off as legitimate models(glamour) and then get talked into it so really the question is would you allow your daughter to be a glamour model-if you knew that if might lead to doing porn in the future? How would you feel if your girl appeared on page 3 of the Sun for instance-some fathers are immensely proud of their daughters but they are banking on the fact that they won't go into porn-this is only happening in the last 20 years-a Page 3 girl didn't automatically do porn as they do nowadays-remember some like Samantha Fox, Maria Whittaker and Linda Lusardi did top shelf stuff but never went into porn and appeared on television in game shows or drama cameos...attitudes changed and to my mind it was the Daily/Sunday Sport that hijacked the name of Page 3 and made it sleazier as most of their models ended up doing x-rated stuff.

I don't think it's hypocritical to dislike the porn industry and want a daughter to avoid it like the plague And still view porn-those hundreds of women are not our daughters and we can compartmentalize it. Porn actresses are someone's daughter though- I sense the reason we don't see those hundreds of pornstars from the past today is that they truly want it put behind them; some probably accept it as a youthful mistake or even adventure, others would try to hide it at any cost and it may have haunted them and led to continued poor choices-who would want it to define a later life or have the grandkids know with film now alive again on the web? Just the same, some like Aunt Peg (RIP), Kay Parker, Nina Hartley, and more embraced it and continued on. Still, many were swallowed up by it and never lived beyond a younger age.

I wouldn't look at it but if that was her choice and she seemed together enough to cope with the business then who am I to stop her? I wouldn't see that I'd failed her if that was her choice- I'd want her to know how ugly the industry could be, I might question my decisions beforehand if she'd grown up into the sort of woman who might be 'easy pickings' and exploitable. I'd be sad by that if she'd grown up with no self worth but I don't see every woman in glamour or porn as being failed human beings, I know plenty of women who have a healthy some may say permissive attitude to sex. I think it's a little prurient to assume all women who love sex and maybe have an exhibitionist streak are sluts and hoes and all that crap and then watch it while tutting and saying 'porn is so much worse now, let me rewind that and watch how disgusting that is one more time'

To eradicate the sleazier, nastier end of the porn market you need men (because it is mostly men) to quit buying and viewing it, kill the demand, demand something better.

Truth is not having a daughter I don't know I can only go on the women I know and have known and some girls sleep around to feel better about themselves (or to feel worse) and some girls just like sex and like to play the field like guys do, if my daughter were to be the latter good luck to her I'd just want her to be safe.

The questions loaded if the implication is that she'd be down on all fours gagging and being made to retch on some asshole's dick while he sneers at her and calls her a bitch and so on.

If the question is based on the porn you choose to view would you have any reservations then no, I don't think I would.

The problem with porn industry is how they ripped off the idea of sexual liberation. They turned sexuality into their property, well at least of the many actresses we adore. Your daughters have the right to unfold all their sexual desires but if you want to argue against their decision to enter porn, you gotta go after those who treat them as their property and sex slaves because that's what the industry is all about, even if all those actresses are free to choose. The system we live in projects fake freedom and thus sexual freedom as well. Sexual desires remain illusions confined within the products of the porn industry. The problem is not with your daughter deciding to do porn but the dependency in relation to the industry.
