There seems to be a dualism in modern porn - softcore productions often have the passion and eroticism but lack the realism - hardcore too often has the realism but lacks the passion and eroticism and is often too formulaic and unsexy, for me taking the soul and pleasure out of the sex (especially if also combined with the current predilection for violence). Why is it so rare to find both?

I recently came across Girlfriend films which is a company making exclusively lesbian productions that seem as much aimed at women as men and these are mostly more along the lines I'm looking for - some context to the sex (not necessarily a story but more than just lets get it on), lots of kissing and tenderness, lots of imaginative and playful sensuality, but also real sex and genuine passion that doesn't hold back from being hard core. I'm wondering if there's anything like that in non lesbian productions? I think the closest I've come across have been on sites like Velvet Ecstasy but not so much in movies.

So anyone know where to find truly erotic porn? Note I do not mean high production values or glossiness or attempts at "artfulness" like those dreadful Fashonista movies - just real sex like sex is in real life (not porn formulas) between intelligent and sensual partners.

I can recommend releases from "Sweet Sinner"
Basically the concept as "Girlfriends", but the sex scenes are mostly hetero.

I've managed to get hold of a couple of those Sweet Sinner vids now - one in particular, "The Babysitter" was excellent and one of the most erotic and intensely passionate movies I've seen. So thanks. The only problem with Girlfriends films is a lot of the older models seem to have bad boob jobs.

Any other recommendations for erotic porn anyone?

The "Romance" series from New Sensations is also recommendable.
Higher production values and better plot development than Sweet Sinner, though the sex scenes are not half as intense.
In fact, Sweet Sinner plays at its own league. I´ve hardly seen more authentic and unpretentious sex in modern porn than here.

I believe what you're asking for is a display of real passion? Kissing, fondling some reality. Then you may find it in some of the so called amateur product. In particular Janet Mason. She seems to have a genuine passion for the scenes she shoots for her husband.

Your complaints, which I agree with, are directed at modern American porno, which is focused on the weird behavior of its stunt cocks. Try modern Japanese porn, they are producing the highest quality pornography these days. Much of it is intensely erotic, sometimes unusual and even humorous. But you'll have to be tolerant of the mosaic (uncensored, illegal Japanese porn is almost as bad as American porn).

personally i'm sick of watching pornography that seems to be nothing but close ups of people genitals, plus a lot of these films treat women like sex toys which, apart from being morally wrong, is simply not sexy, i much prefer the erotic films you see on late night TV, if those films featured cumshots they'd be perfect

I think they treat themselves as "sex toys". Otherwise, they'd be doing it for free.
