Porn Stars Who can actually act

In Your opinion, what porn stars could actually act? There aren't many IMHO, but I'd like to propose 3 names and somebody I can't remember.

Kay Parker. Did the older woman/mom, upper middle class woman thing rather well.

Dorothy Lemay. Girl next door, not too bright, we all knew somebody like her in high school.

Eric Edwards. Grown up Wally Cleaver type. Did the busy dad type well. When I first saw him, I thought he WAS Wally Cleaver and asked, "Is Tony Dow doing porn?"

The blond kid from 'My Best Friend'. I forget his name, but he did the confused teenager thing well.

Colleen Brennan, Heather Thomas, Taija Rae, Tracey Adams and Buffy Davis always seemed to be at least competent as actresses. They delivered dialog believably, in my opinion.

Check out Colleen and Buffy in "The Ribald Tales of Canterbury," Taija in "Play Me Again, Vanessa," Tracey in "Pretty Peaches 2" and Heather in "Scandal in the Mansion," where she maintains a German accent while getting boned by Marc Wallice.

Ashlyn Gere seemed to do above average acting performances.

From males, I think R. Bolla (Richard Bolla and also known as Robert Kerman on non-porn films) was really believable in his roles.

But being able to act made the performance shine even more. A porn actor/actress who is believable in his/her role certainly gives a lot to the fantasy. I mean, at least for me, porn isn't all about just seeing someone having sex. It's more about fantasies. People already naked and going down on each other isn't a fantasy. A badly acted fantasy about a plumber appearing to someone's house and starting to shag after 30 seconds isn't that good of a fantasy.

Well, sometimes just seeing someone naked is enough and in those cases it basically doesn't matter whether anyone can act but voyeuristically watching a titillating situation getting hotter and hotter with believable acting is always a plus.

Imagine a mainstream movie with some topless scenes here and there. Of course, it's always a plus when someone shows her tits regardless of the situation. It's good to see someone just flashing her breasts. But imagine that scene happening after the woman has made herself believable by acting well and imagine seeing those tits as a part of a situation where you really hope you'd see them but she ain't going to get topless... yet. It's a far more satisfying to have the nudity and sex that way. At least in a voyeuristic way.

It's basically the same as if you are given two options:
1. To see a complete stranger to appear bare breasted in front of you.
2. To see someone you've known at least for a while appearing naked in front of you.
At least for me, it's way more interesting to see someone known naked than a complete stranger. Both are good though, of course, but the second option is better.

Basically if someone acts believably she is making herself a bit more known to the viewer. The viewer can relate to the situation better and the viewer can believe the situation better and that way the fantasy that's been shot on film will have a bigger effect.

John Leslie as evidenced by all those best actor awards. The late Jamie Gillis too. For women, Veronica Hart and Jody Maxwell in my opinion were the best actresses.

Maxwell was a theatre major in college.

Well I know a scene of Erika Bella shes acting offended and it reminds me of a hollywood-star. Oh yeah... It was Naomi Watts! The same expressions!!!
I dont say Erika is acting real good, but on this scene she makes a real professional offended expression while talking with another girl. I don`t know the name of the movie. But Im gonna informate you, if I find it again.
And then there is a male actor named Andrea Nobili, which is playing real good in the movie "Night Shock" in german titled as "Heisse Nächte im Spermarausch". He could get a oscar for this one! I figured he really could play in some mafia-flicks!

*Jeanne Fine

*Nikki Sinn, (yes, she generally looked a little doe eyed and distant but I am convinced she can act)

*Raven was brilliant in Taboo American Style but that had a lot to do with perfect casting by Henri Pachard as I couldn't praise her acting in anything else. Gloria Leonard was also perfectly cast in the same movie

*Krista Lane was strong in a theatrical sense but she often seemed to be putting on a "performance" rather than wearing the role. (Love to watch her get it on in the sack though)

*Ashlyn Gere is not bad, maybe tried a little too hard.

*Vanessa Del Rio (check her out in "Dancers", I could feel and smell the character she played all around me)

*Kay Parker has a decent range

If we`re talking about porn actresses then i think any criticism of them is pretty much misplaced

I mean it`s not their fault the characters they`re playing are meant to be blatantly bored and fascinated with their own hair , or somebody currently in a twitching coma


Blame the directors and writers , they`re the ones who are failing to create better roles for those girls

Something I've often wondered is whether non English speaking (especially French) performers, like Cathy Stewart and Catherine Ringer can act. They seem pretty good, but not understanding their language I don't really know. It would be nice to know that they are good actors, though.
