The Filefactory 50 Gb limit for free users surprises me. Ever since I created a free account, they've always promoted a maximum of 50 files up to 400 Mb each. Wouldn't that be a 20 Gb limit or am I still drunk from yesterday ?

This is an un-precise announcement at their site.

AFAIK, they allow upload of 50 files of max. 400 MB´s each in one go (simultaneously or per upload-session) whereas the storage-limit for free-users is 50 GB´s in total.

So, storage-limit and upload-restrictions are 2 different things there

The way they've worded it sounds like they wont delete the excess but I wouldnt bet on it
given the inactive files to be removed are only mentioned for premium users over 1 TB

Down the bottom of the story linked to by Buschi theres a Yes or No
select No and you get to ask them a question direct

Their the only ones who really know what will happen a week from 5.4.2013

Everything seems to say their not going in anywhere near as hard as other hosts have

Another file host has shut. F Mates has gone, luckily they were banned here so VEF will not be affected by any dead links.

I faced the same error for a few minutes, restarted my computer and everything was fine.

Even uploaded.net, the oldest filehost around, faces downtimes. I am not really surprised, just frustrated sometimes.

Default Download Button Trickery

Seem to be more than a few that are being tricked on various filehosts into
selecting the wrong download button

Best advice start looking for the download button from the bottom of the screen and work your way up....Avoid the most obvious download button that looks like a neon sign at the top as its usually a download manager or today 20 12 2017 tries to trick you into believing its a premium member only file

The good filehosts will have a button or text simply saying - slow download or free

On the others typically you have 3 choices so 2 chances of getting it wrong which is why you need to be vigilant with regards to the size of the file and its type...

If it ends in .EXE cancel start again

The other small pitfall to avoid once you have selected the right button

Some filehosts have a ticked box under the download button which needs to be unchecked
or your download link will suddenly have an .EXE on it.

As illustrated here on File factory - it appears a few screens into the process after the countdown finishes so as said above you need to be vigilant

DOWNLOAD BUTTONS

PICTURES of HUGEFILES screen with add-ons turned on and off
http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/sho...33&postcount=5

NO SCRIPT FIREFOX ADD-ON INSTRUCTIONS

If you wish to avoid the guesswork altogether

Firefox browser + the no script add-on+ ad-block plus
most other browsers will have similar add-ons apart from IE

You only need allow the filehost on the no script menu
via right clicking the filehost page , left click website name , refresh page

If the filehost requires codes then the terms
recaptcha , captcha or solve media need to also be selected.

On some hosts this means allowing no script twice

Once when you first enter and then when your on the captcha page

Now you have one choice on the 2 screens which eventually leads to the download link

This works for a lot of filehosts and 2 that it didnt
- rapidgator and depositfiles have changed their ways

Default Filefactory - all slots busy message

Premium costs £8 a month so not overly expensive, premium give the same benefits as any other premium host account. Unlimited storage, downloads etc.. the maximum upload size is 2000mb but that's a bit pointless because free users can only download files of a maximum size of 500mb.
Uploading is done through the browser and I found it a little slow but I suppose it depends on the speed of internet connection.

In my account settings there are three optional download settings ( all credit to Watashi for this)

1) Direct Downloads
When enabled, downloads of all FileFactory files start automatically.

2) FileFactory TrafficShare
When enabled, your users can download your files without waiting and without ads. Once you exceed your monthly allowance, your downloads revert to the free download system.

3) FileFactory Digital Sales
When enabled, you restrict your files to be downloaded only by other FileFactory Premium members. You then earn a commission on all sales generated from your account.

Direct Downloads does as it says, all downloads start immediately without visiting the captcha screen or waiting for a countdown.

TrafficShare removes all the ads and allows faster downloads. 100gb/month is included free with the premium account after 100gb has been downloaded it then disables TrafficShare for the rest of that month. Extra subscriptions can be purchased if you want to allow more than 100gb but a waste of money IMO.

FileFactory Digital Sales is for people who want to earn and because it puts all your downloads to premium members only is not allowed here.

I would recommend making those first two changes,

I uploaded a couple of magazines last night download them if you want to see how it all works.

I dont know if this experience goes beyond to other hosts BUT

Yesterday I came across 200+ fiiles (10 seasons of a TV show)
all posted on the same day

The bizarre thing is first link when attempting to access
= message - all free download slots are busy etc etc

2nd link 5 seconds later = immediate access
- not even signed in as a free registered member

This has replayed itself 10 times so far

As yet i havent revisited the files that have not been available

One might presume the much loathed - all slots busy - for us free users - isnt about high traffic bandwidth at the time, individual servers overloaded or regional allocations being used up but a deliberate attempt to annoy and thus get the free user to upgrade.

Makes sense when you think about it

Without us free users becoming premium in a reasonable number the whole sharing process doesnt work and certainly doesnt make the filehosts money.

Someone has to pay for the bandwidth usage
the Ads alone wouldnt come close to covering it.

The next time your trying a file factory link maybe bookmarking the one thats saying unavailable and see what else that member has posted on the same host would be a wise
course of action.

Why are all the free download slots in use?

Modified on: Sun, Jul 21, 2013 at 8:06 AM

If you are a free user, you may have come across the following error message:

All free download slots on this server are currently in use

In order to provide the best possible experience for our Premium members, we limit the number of simultaneous connections for free and anonymous users. The limit is for each server, not FileFactory as a whole. If you receive this error message when downloading a file, you still may be able to access files on another server, it all depends on the load on the server at that particular time.

We do this to ensure that our servers do not become overloaded.

Default Depositfiles - preview of picture or video file content

Just noticed this on their site and viewed one of my files and sure enough it played a portion of a video which i had gone to some lengths to make sure the title didnt scream porn.

That these previews come with a report button for anything that breaks their rules
forget DMCA notices they've just been replaced by anyone who wishes to report your content

UNLESS you turn the preview option off

Theres an option to turn it off which i did on one and all files viewed after that didnt have it

24.07.13
Content Preview

Depositfiles provides a new opportunity for all Users, a preview service of photo-, video-content. Such function will allow our Users to preview the specific content on the link, before downloading it.

Please note! The preview of archive files is not available

They've reduced their countdown from 60 to 5 seconds

or maybe its only for content that belongs to registered accounts or users

Default StopFileLockers Anti-Piracy Outfit

Announces Imminent Shutdown

Last year adult industry businessman Robert King embarked on a mission to make waves in the file-sharing market by shutting down, harassing, interfering and otherwise meddling in the operations of hundreds of file-hosting sites.

After successes, failures and the collection of hundreds of enemies along the way, King says that his StopFileLockers campaign has run out of money and support.

Barring a financial miracle, the operation will shut down on Friday

Pure irony it was him attacking Megaupload re-born that brought his campaign undone

However, in January 2013 King began attacking the payment processing abilities of Kim Dotcom’s brand new Mega.co.nz, the most-scrutinized file-hosting startup in tech history.

There was no way that Mega would do anything to break the law, yet King was determined to harass the company. He failed, Mega continued to grow, and the moral high-ground of the StopFileLockers campaign had been damaged by going after a law-abiding company going about its 100% legitimate business.
