Do you recall Megan Fox? You know 'Transformers' in 2007 and the sequel in 2009 .... looked to be 'A list' all the way, back then eh?

But how quickly those who rocket up the greasy pole can slide right back down again. Her entire back body of work running from 2001, to her latest project (a remake of the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' movie due out June 2014 ... yeah really), consists of bit parts in movies and TV shows which have all, in the main, sunk into instant oblivion, apart from the two 'Tranformer' things - which is why at the risk of provoking anyones ire, she now seems to me to fully qualify for this thread. Of course another cgi blockbuster may change this status, or maybe not ..... Time will tell.

Born in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, she began her training in drama and dance at the age of 5 and, at the age of 10, moved to Florida where she continued her training and finished school. She now lives in Los Angeles, California. Megan began acting and modeling at the age of 13, after winning several awards at the 1999 'American Modeling and Talent Convention' in Hilton Head, South Carolina. She lived with her mother until she made enough money to support herself. At age 17, she exam tested out of school via correspondence, in order to move to Los Angeles.

She made her film debut as Brianna Wallace in the Olsen twins film, 'Holiday in the Sun' in 2001, and has also appeared on the covers of many magazines. In 2010 she married and subsequently had a child. She is currently promoting Avon perfumes ...

After being caught stealing a $7 tube of lip gloss from a Florida branch of Wal-Mart in her rebellious teenage years she refused to confess until police arrived and the security tapes reviewed when she began to cry. After finally confessing, she was handcuffed behind her back, arrested, and charged with petty theft. The law courts found her guilty, and sentenced her to one days community service, and she also received a lifetime ban from Wal-Mart. Strangely she got her revenge as the word is that they're not invited to set up shop on Megan Fox Island! (just a joke lads).

After suggesting that she had been involved in a lesbian relationship with a stripper when she was 18, she had to later admit in the June 2009 issue of ELLE, that she had somewhat distorted the events of her relationship with the stripper, saying she has given certain male writers "an amped-up version" of her past – "They’re boys; they’re easily toyed with. I tell stories and have them eating out of my hand. Not all of it is true. In fact, most of it is bullshit."

In 2007, she stated, "I've done drugs, and that's how I know I don't like them"; however, she supports the legalization of marijuana, openly admitting to smoking it, and saying that she does not consider it a drug and would be first in line to buy a pack of joints.

Fox was to star in the third installment of the Transformer franchise, 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon', but was not included because of her statements comparing working under director Bay to working for Hitler .... a very bad career move (as has been proved since). She has now 'patched things up' with Bay, hence the 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' project.

She has also admitted to an Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, insecurities and self-harming ... commmenting "I would never call myself a cutter". Despite her need for control she also stated in 'Esquire' magazine in January 2013 that her Christianity is very important to her, and she turns to it to keep from going the same route as Marilyn Monroe, Lindsay Lohan and Britney Spears. She also said that she still speaks in tongues in church.

Beata Boman is one of those ladies who seem to travel the world in the right set, and adorn fashion and gossip pages in the company of the rich and famous, without the rest of us knowing much about them ..... a sort of minor celeb for the very wealthy. So this is a small side-trip into the world that us 'little people' (to quote Leona Helmsley) don't normally get a look at.

How they land in these positions is often from very poor backgrounds. Take Beata Boman for example, she was Polish-born and therefore has no inherited wealth or connections but she became a fashion model working for Nina Ricci and Piaget, before becoming a fashion designer by starting her own fashion line called 'Beata B'. Her lines included a collection of fur pieces "at very affordable prices" .... which is somewhat ironic as it transpires.

She apparently married and then divorced a rather wealthy man early on in her career, and this has since financed a life on the society pages of Manhattan and in the Hamptons for years. So as well as a house on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, she also has a residence in a fashonable part of London, which has been her main home for the last ten years. She holidayed with Prince Andrew in St Tropez in 2008, and allegedly was a twinkle in his eye for quite a while ... and is the proud owner of a massive rack.

Yet despite this idyllic lifestyle, swanning about the euro trash hotspots and attracting the attention of wealthy middle aged men ... or princes .....

She has a dose of the Winona disease, yes she has developed the habit of picking items of clothing and leaving establishments without the bothersome issue of payment to the vendors. In June 2011 Ms Boman (sometimes spelled Bohman or Bowman) was arrested in Greenwich, Connecticut for allegedly stealing an $11,050 fur lined scarf from Richards of Greenwich. This event was reported in newspapers around the world ... the NY Post, the Daily Mail, Huffington Post etc etc .... they all have socialite gossip pages and readers who like these stories.

Further investigation by the police uncovered that she had had at least one trial run, when CCTV showed that in the same store she had also stolen a $750 neck wrap only a week before the incident for which she had been arrested.

The legal eagles flew into overdrive, firstly stating that she placed the second stolen scarf in her handbag after coming "preoccupied" with a distressing phone call from a friend facing brain surgery ... this obviously collapsed with the disclosure of the earlier theft ... the next defense was that her own brain surgery was the reason for the initial crime, stating that "she has not been the same person since" .... whatever, after the initial arrest, her arrest, she was taken to a police station and charged with first-degree larceny; Boman posted her $5,000 bail, then went to a gala society ball that evening. She apparently later sent Richards of Greenwich a cheque for the $750 neck wrap .... so that's OK then.

Actually it is, because as usual there's one law for a poor woman shop lifter, and another for a rich one .... because after apologising for the thefts, she was handed a sentence of 18 months of 'accelerated rehabilitation' and 100 hours of community service in the deal, plus counselling. So as long as she behaved for the next 18 months - until March, 2013, the charges against her would be dropped (according to the New York Post).

I know devotees to Country & Western don't agree, but in my world, ALL country singers are minor or best forgotten (with the possible exceptions of Dolly and Tammy ) ..... so here is Lynn Anderson, born in Grand Forks, North Dakota and raised in Fair Oaks, California. Her parents were in the country music business, so no surprise she performed regularly on the local television program 'Country Caravan'.

She was working as a secretary at Top 40 radio station, KROY in Sacramento, California, when she was talent spotted, and she made her professional singing debut in 1966 for Chart Records, at the age of 19, and she had her first major hit soon after with 'Ride, Ride, Ride', and signed with Columbia Records in 1970. She went on to more than fifty Top-40 country hits. In true country style she is married and divorced twice, and she has three children.

Also in true country style in Oct 1988 she was arrested for malicious mischief against the girlfriend of her ex boyfriend (she was alleged to have broken into the womans car, stolen items and then threatened her). She initially denied the charge, but in Jan 1989 it was reported that she had written an apology to the victim to get the charges dropped.

Then in 1991 she was sentenced to two days in jail for contempt of court for cursing her two children during a court-approved visit.

In December 2004, she was charged with driving while intoxicated in Denton, Texas. This after a driver who was following her car called the police after noting that her car was weaving in and out of lanes. When the police arrived, they found her passed out in her car on the shoulder of a highway near Denton, Texas. After failing a field sobriety test, she was arrested. She was later released on $1000 bail bond.

In January 2005 she was arrested after being accused of the shoplifting of a couple of "Harry Potter" DVD's from a branch of Smith's Food & Drug Center, a Taos supermarket, and then punching a police officer who arrived at the store. According to a statement of probable cause filed by Taos police officer Virgil Vigil, Anderson asked him "Do you know who I am?" when refusing to sign a citation after supermarket employees had accused her of taking the DVD. She then resisted being taken to the police cruiser, and according to the officers statement, when the officer asked if she was resisting arrest, she turned and punched him on the left forearm. She pleaded not guilty ....

Also in true country style, having apparently not learnt from the earlier drink driving incident, in May 2006, she was arrested on a second driving under the influence of alcohol charge, this time following a minor traffic accident near Espanola, New Mexico. According to the local police, she failed a sobriety test, and then refused to take a breathalyzer test after her car had hit the back of another car. No one was injured in the collision. She was later released on bond.

Hedy Lamarr (b. Hedwig Eva Maria Kiesler) in Vienna, Austria-Hungary, to Jewish parents (although some claim her mother had converted to Catholicism, and brought her up as one as well). Her background didn't include the theatre, but she must have got the bug somewhere because after finishing her education, at age 18, and already married to a millionaire industrialist (reputed to be the third richest man in Austria, and a leading Fascist supporter, although not a Nazi supporter), she auditioned for and got a part in the 1933 movie 'Ecstasy'. This was against her husbands wishes, and he tried to buy up as many copies of 'Ecstasy' as he could lay his hands on, in an attempt to restrict its public viewing .... too late.

The film was a big hit (see Oops below), and being married to a rich Austrian meant that both Mussolini and Hitler attended at least one of their lavish parties at their castle, “Schloss Schwarzenau” (this despite her 'ancestry'). Lamarr was now banned from making movies by her husband, and made to accompany him to business meetings, where he conferred with scientists and other professionals involved in military technology .... but this led to an interesting development in that Ms Lamarr turned out to be extremely talented in maths. She and the composer George Antheil later went on in 1942 to invent an early technique for spread spectrum communications and frequency hopping, based partially upon information she got from her husbands scientists on torpedo guidance problems, and an invention necessary for wireless communication then, and still being used today (think 'Bluetooth'). In 1997 the Electronic Frontier Foundation gave Lamarr a belated award for her contributions to the breakthrough. In 1998, an Ottawa wireless technology developer, Wi-LAN Inc, acquired a 49% claim to the patent from Lamarr for an undisclosed amount of stock ...

Following the break up of her first marriage, and her arrival in Paris, she then moved to London, where she met Louis B. Mayer who because of her infamy as "the Ecstasy lady", hired her and insisted that she change her name to Hedy Lamarr. She went to Hollywood where she was invariably cast as the archetypal glamorous seductress of exotic origins. Lamarr played opposite the era's most popular leading men in a long career spanning 36 movies. Perhaps her two best known roles are in 'White Cargo' in 1942, and 'Delilah' in the epic 'Samson and Delilah' in 1949 (when her fee was around $90,000), but then oddly, her career went into decline after a succesful comedic turn opposite Bob Hope in 'My Favorite Spy' in 1951' ..... it seems that the public preferred her exotic mystique (and her looks were fading). She appeared only sporadically in films after 1950, and with her appearance in the critically panned epic 'The Story of Mankind in 1957, the last nail was in place.

Lamarr was married six times, and had three children (one of whom was adopted), and died in Casselberry, Florida on 19 January 2000, aged 85. Her son took her ashes to Austria, and spread them in the Vienna Woods, in accordance with her last wishes.

Sex sells, and in this case, her fame was initially based upon her part in in Gustav Machatý's 1933 film 'Ecstasy', which featured closeups of her during 'orgasm', as well as full frontal nude shots of her in another scene .... lots of publicity, and a star is born (Nothing new under the sun). Her husband was very unhappy with the film and prevented her from pursuing her acting career, and allegedly kept her a 'virtual prisoner', confined to their castle home.

According to one story, when she determined to flee her controlling husband and her marraige, she persuaded him to let her wear all of her jewellry for a guest dinner, but then disappeared .... she claimed to have disguised herself as her own maid (after drugging the girl), and fled to Paris. Apparently she wasn't short of funds when she arrived, which rather lends credence to the stolen jewellry version.

In her 1966 autobiography, 'Ecstasy and Me', in an earlier attempt to flee her Austrian husband, she reputedly slipped into a brothel and hid in an empty room. While her husband searched the brothel, a man entered the room and she had sex with him so she could remain hidden .... She later sued the publisher, saying that many of the anecdotes in the book, which was described by a judge as "filthy, nauseating, and revolting," were fabricated by its ghost writer.

However she was counter sued in Federal Court by a journalist, who asserted the actress's autobiography contained material from an article he wrote in 1965 about her life for a magazine called 'Screen Facts'.

In 1974, Lamarr filed an invasion of privacy lawsuit to the tune of $10 million for the unauthorized use of her name (Hedley Lamar) in the Mel Brooks satire Blazing Saddles; the case was settled out of court.

In 1997 Lamarr sued Corel for using her image without her permission on the cover of their CorelDRAW's software suites. Corel countered that she did not own rights to the image. The parties reached an undisclosed settlement in 1998

In 1966, Lamarr was arrested for shoplifting in Los Angeles. The charges were eventually dropped.

Undeterred by the escape from court, in 1991, she was arrested for shoplifting again in Florida, this time for $21.48 worth of laxatives and eye drops. She pleaded "no contest" to avoid a court appearance, and in return for a promise to refrain from breaking any laws for a year (probation), the charges were once again dropped. The police officer who arrested her didn't know who she was .... ''He is only 24,'' said the police officers supervisor, ''I'm sure he had never heard of her.''

• Max Reinhardt the German actor/director, called her the "most beautiful woman in Europe" due to her "strikingly dark exotic looks".
• In an autobiography of Lamarr she said that all sexual activity in the film 'Ectasy' was simulated; the orgasm achieved using "method acting reality” .... to whit, a pin being poked in her backside by the director.
• Mr L B Meyer chose the surname 'Lamarr' for her in homage to a beautiful film star of the silent era, Barbara La Marr, who had died in 1926 from tuberculosis.
• On August 11, 1942, U.S. Patent 2,292,387 was granted to Antheil and "Hedy Kiesler Markey", Lamarr's married name - for frequency hopping. The US didn't realise its applications (for torpedo's) and the navy didn't use it until 1962 (after the patents had expired).
• Her death coincided with her daughter Denise's 55th birthday.
• Andy Warhol's 1966 short film 'Hedy' is also known as 'The Shoplifter'.
• For her contribution to the motion picture industry, Hedy Lamarr has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6247 Hollywood Blvd.
• The mansion used in 'The Sound of Music' in 1965 belonged to her at the time

Juliana Sossa Toro is a Columbian girl from Medellin, who Studied Social Communication at the University Foundation Remington, but she then took the normal route to the top as a model and beauty queen .... she moved to Lomas de Chapultepec in Mexico City to get more modelling work. She was a participant in the 'Miss Antioquia 2008' competition .... she won the 'Queen of Tourism' crown. Unfortunately, as we have seen before, beauty queens in Latin America attract certain kinds of men ..... well more so than elsewhere

She was a close 'friend' of Jose Jorge 'JJ' Balderas Garza, who is accused of running a drug-trafficking ring, and was also wanted as the main suspect in the shooting of the Paraguayan footballer Salvador Cabanas (A Paraguayan international footballer and member of Mexico's 'Club America') in 2010. He survived, but a bullet remains lodged in his head .

Unluckily for Mr Balderas, his girlfriend was a Facebook user, and once the police realised this they simply joined her friends circle and looked at her profile page which gave her location. A quick raid found Ms Sossa, and Mr Balderas Garza in the house they shared. They arrested the couple, along with five other suspects. She was later released whereas her boyfriend wasn't. She has also been linked to Edgar "La Barbie" Valdez, the boss of her ex boyfriend.

Silvia Irabien is from Mérida, Yucatán Mexico and was working as a Waitress / Bartender, and running a 'Bikini' business (whatever that was), when she was picked as a contestant in Mexico's Bar Big Brother season 2 in 2003. She became something of a sensation, and was nicknamed in that South American way, as "La Chiva". She won the BB contest was allegedly the recipient of three million pesos (tax free) ... which is about $233,000 US dollars (seems a lot! ... probably $23,000 ).

Fame was almost instantaneous in the way it seems to be now, and two years later she became the host of that years version of Big Brother, and many later versions, which also included four VIP versions. She used her fame to launch a number of enterprises, by signing a contract to sell pictures of herself and videos via cell phone premium rate numbers. She set up a website, 'lachiva.net', in 2005, where fans could browse for a fee of $25.00. The site included her biography, videos, photos, games, articles, cooking tips, beauty and relationships, but press reported that the site went dead after a couple of years.

It seems her fame was waning by 2007. So in 2008 she went back to her hometown, Mérida and became a brand image for shoes in Yucatan, and the following year she posed for the magazine only M and released a collection of swimwear. In 2009 she turned to local politics and appeared on the lists of candidates for deputies to the July elections for the Social Democratic Party (PSD), at that time she proposed that drugs were legalized (maybe not so barmy in Mexico where the drug lords are winning the war on drugs).

She is married and has added a new surname and had a child .... she is currently host a TV program called 'Cocktail' and recently declared that she was "not crazy" enough to live in the Mexico city.

In October 2007 she now started to cash in on her assets by appearing on the cover of mens mag 'La "Revista H" and was paid about 100 thousand dollars (or 100,000 pesos ... translations can be dodgy), pose nude. She followed this up later with a nude Pl*yBoy set for the Mexican edition as well.

The Attorney General's Office (PGR) in Mexico is investigating alleged death threats against 'La Chiva' .... She was giving evidence in the case of Salvador Cabanas the footballer (See Juliana Sossa Toro), and was threatened with death ... the message that was written on a blanket laid on the 'South Loop', a major thoroughfare south of Mexico City, the day after she had given testimony before the Attorney General. The alleged perpetrator of the death threat to the model and TV host, is the leader of the armed wing of the Sonora cartel, Edgar Valdes Villarreal, better known as "the Barbie".... the message on the blanket (which I guess has some symbolism in itself)explained the reason for his threat:

"Chiva , you know how much I want to protect JJ [Jose Jorge 'JJ' Balderas Garza], I told you to stay quiet and you didn't, so I'll cut your head off. You know what happened to this pen ... or was it mess with Arleth Teran and she is my mother. Atte. La Barbie ".

She was forced to confess that she had had a relationship with José Jorge "J.J." Balderas (who was wanted for drug running and the attempted murder of Cabanas), before he was dating another Mexican 'model', Juliana Sossa Toro. The entwinement of all Mexican society in the drug gang cuture is very great ....

Sky Tonia Ferreira was born in Venice Beach, Los Angeles USA and aged thirteen, she started taking opera lessons to refine her singing voice. She used her 'Myspace' profile to upload various demos of self-written tracks. Shortly before her fifteenth birthday, she caught the attention of Swedish production company by contacting them through the social networking site and they took her on and she signed with Parlophone in July 2009.

She started a three pronged assault on stardom; in 2010 she was in independent drama film 'Putty Hill' as Jenny. TV shows have added to her acting credits and she recently made her Cannes Film Festival debut in Grant Singer’s 17-minute short 'IRL', will star later this year in 'The Green Inferno', a new horror from 'Hostel's' Eli Roth.

Also in 2010, she appeared on the cover of 'Jalouse' magazine, and her modelling career continued apace, and she featured in the advertisement campaign for 'Calvin Klein's CK One' fragrance. She also appeared on the Spring/Summer 2011 cover of 'Vs. magazine', and also appeared in a fall ad campaign by 'Adidas', alongside 'Snoop Dogg' and 'Big Sean'.

Finally she is a stage performer and has also written and recorded material for her singles "17", "One" and "Obsession", before an expected debut studio album (her debut album,' Night Time, My Time', is set to be released on October 29, 2013). Her latest single "You're Not the One" was released as the album's lead single on September 24, 2013.

In the early morning of September 14, 2013, and just hours after she had walked alongside Cara Delevingne and Georgia May Jagger in Marc Jacobs' spring/summer 2014 show at New York Fashion Week, Ferreira and boyfriend Zachary Cole Smith were arrested at a traffic stop in Saugerties, New York for drug possession. This after making 'several vehicle and traffic infractions' according to the police. Mr Smith was reportedly driving an unregistered Ford pickup truck with stolen plates, and without insurance or a license.

She was found to be in possession of ecstasy tablets, and was charged with drug possession and resisting arrest (she apparently actively fought the police officers). Mr Smith was arrested for possession of heroin. Her bail was set at $1,500 (and $2,500 for Mr Smith), and she was later released ..... With the nonchalance to drug charges that seem to be the norm these days, after paying bail, she performed at Basilica Hudson's 'BasilicaSoundScape' Festival in Hudson, New York.

Mirella Dzioba (b. Mirella Saric) graduated from Wayne State University in 2004, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Journalism and Related Programs. Of Bosnian descent, she modelled, and worked for local radio stations such as Bosnian Radio in Michigan and WNZK.

She also worked at Davenport University as a writer producer, but she never made the critical breakthrough to celebdom, and bumped around as a local model and small channel media celebrity for a while. So far, so typical, for many of our 'models' .... and its fair to say that she is now a former model whose best modelling days are now behind her. She married a couple of times with 3 kids, and is also known as Mirella Moore, and after her modelling gigs were over, she started work as an insurance broker and real estate professional, although she still apparently does the news on the local radio at the weekends.

In July 2013 she was involved in a Real Estate deal with a 61 year old businessman from the Detroit area, and invited him to have some drinks later. The met up at a Rochester, Michigan restaurant. Here its alleged that she told the man that she liked “strong men speaking to her in a sexual manner and encouraged the victim to do so while in the restaurant”, and urged him to send those types of messages to her voicemail ..... he did

They met up again, and she apparently tried to get details of his wealth from him, apparently saying she wanted money for a charity. She then sent a suggestive photo to the businessman. She then 'requested' $1400.00 dollars to pay for a computer and real estate classes, which he paid over to her because he was afraid if he didn’t she would tell his wife about their meetings, and also feared that she would make false claims.

He was apparently right to fear her because, no sooner had she got the money than she told him she would need $250,000.00, or she would tell his wife “everything”. It is alleged that she also told the businessman that she had told her husband about 'his behavior', and that he wanted her to get a lawyer involved. She followed this up with text messages to the businessman which warned that "If u think u can shut me up with $1400$ u r mistaken. All u got to do is pay and no one will ever know. Ever". He also started getting the midnight phone calls replaying juicy bits from his saucy voicemails.

This was the final straw and the businessman decided to go to the F.B.I. They instructed him to tell her he could only give her $100,000.00, delivered in installments of $5,000.00. He met her on Tuesday, Sept. 3 2013 in a parking lot outside her office, for the first installment where he handed over an envelope containing $4,800 in $100 bills. She threatened him and said that 'The next five needs to be by the end of the week though.' ... and the FBI agents arrested her on extortion charges which could carry a maximum sentence of 5 years.

Renee Alway is from northern Michigan, where her father was both a pastor and police officer (interesting combination), which apparently led to him becoming abusive and domineering both physically and mentally, so that she, her siblings, and her mother, were often afraid to leave the house due to her father's respected position in the community as well as his mental instability.

She started modeling when she was 13 and she modeled in New York, Europe and Japan which led to appearances in 'Seventeen' and 'Italian Vogue', and ads for 'Delia's', 'US Weekly' and she has modelled for 'Barbizon'. In Chicago for her wedding, she heard about the auditions for 'America's Next Top Model, Cycle 8' the day before the wedding day, and she went to the audition just four days after she got married (with a son). She qualified for the show, eventually finishing third. Since then she has done model work for the 'Roman Holiday Collection', and she has appeared on the CBS TV series 'Shark', in an episode entitled "In Absentia". She has also competed on the reality show 'Modelville', that airs within the 'Tyra Banks Show' and finished 2nd. She is now signed to Next Model Management.

When she got on to the 'America's Next Top Model show, she promptly fell out with most of the other contestants and had to have her rows mediated by Tyra Banks .

In June 2013, Alway was arrested for multiple offenses, including for investigation of burglary, fraud, narcotics possession, committing a felony while on bail and other charges by Palm Springs police .... Her arrest was after a six-hour armed standoff with police when they responded to reports of a suspicious woman walking around a neighbourhood, and being spotted outside a condominium with an open back door (the neighbours reported that the owners were away). According to police reports, Alway was found hiding in the garage allegedly armed with a gun, and as they believed an armed man also was in the condo, the SWAT team was called in for the ensuing six-hour standoff ... she was in fact alone.

All this when she was already on bail from an earlier arrest which stemmed from drugs and theft charges, which means she could face additional charges. She was reportedly 'homeless' and in 'survival mode' when she broke in to the apartment .... her family say she is deeply into a cycle of drug abuse and needs help with her mother saying "We stopped giving her money, which was feeding her drug problem".

Apparently she disliked the way her hair looked in her recent mug shot so she shaved her head while in custody .... (shades of Brittany Spears here) and has remained in custody at the Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility in nearby Banning, with bail set at $150,000 .... an amount which her family can't or won't meet.
