as they will do
who saw that coming? I gotta hand it to you Wendigo, you have got an eagle eye for the B movie. I really enjoy your many pointers to minor monsters I've somehow missed. |

Currently watching rogue one a star wars story. In my honest opinion the best of the new movies that has been made since Disney took over and hands down better than current line up in the canon. They introduced the charecters and then buttoned them all up in a clean way and landed the ending to start episode 4 (a new hope) perfectly.

Just watched Deadpool 2.
I liked it, although not as much as part #1. The 1st movie looked a lot better on the storytelling, but in this one the storytelling was a lot more an excuse to show action scenes than anything else, at least to me. As usual, I loved those typical one-liners and references. Am I looking forward to Deadpool 3 if it ever happens? Well, if it's nearly as good as #1, of course; but if it's barely a lame excuse as it was on #2: then no, thanks.

L.A. Takedown (1989)
Excerpt Sgt. Vincent Hanna (Scott Plank) of the LAPD Robbery-Homicide division is after a ruthless group of professional criminals led by Patrick McLaren (Alex "I was in a Madonna video" McArthur). After a recently hired gun, Waingro (Xander Berkeley), kills a guard during the group's last heist, McLaren and his guys attempt to get rid of him but the psychopath manages to get away. Waingro holds a piece of valuable information, putting McLaren and his gang in great danger. Michael Mann's made-for-TV film L.A. Takedown is basically an extended Miami Vice episode, originally planned as the pilot to a new series. But, fortunately, disagreements over the cast between NBC and Mann led to this becoming a stand-alone television film. Indeed, most of the performers were horribly miscast. Xander Berkeley is ridiculous as the psychopathic Waingro. Mann's second-biggest mistake in regards of the cast is Alex McArthur while Scott Plank isn't more than a good-looking guy with little acting skills. Yes, you've probably noticed that this was remade into the major big-budget bomb Heat, starring Robert De Niro and Al Pacino. Heat is definitely superior in every possible way. The only thing that L.A. Takedown may have done right is to have younger actors playing the leads. Other than that you'll get plenty of bad acting, ridiculously dressed cops, unfitting music and more relationship drama than in the remake. There's nothing interesting to see here but if you're a fan of Heat, you may consider it as a curio. |

The Foreigner (2017)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1615160/ An action packed revenge thriller Quan (Jackie Chan) is out with his daughter in London when she is killed in a bomb blast set off by a suspected splinter group of the IRA. After weeks of pressing the authorities to find the killers he decides to take the battle to those he feels will know who the killers are including the First Minister (Pierce Brosnan), what they do not know is his wife and other daughter had been killed by pirates and that he has had many years special forces training, what he sees as a lack of response to the senseless killing of his surviving daughter pushes him over the edge. Well worth watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om9YCk7ufHs
