Minor technology advances that require you to buy brand new hardware
and make perfectly workingb hardware redundant well before its time. TVs are the obvious one Mobile Phones arent far behind Computers where the gains are so miniscule you cant see them with the naked eye Solar power scam - outlay 1000s and still have to pay - another pyramid scheme Those who got in early pay nothing or are always in credit in some areas Those who came late are being milked by the power companies & govts January, 70,000 Victorian households with solar panels have had the rates they get paid for creating this energy slashed by 80 per cent or more, leaving them with bigger power bills even though they're creating their own clean energy. I recently came across one angry solar panel owner who posted on Facebook about being charged $60 a month on her electricity bills, even though her household is producing on average double the energy that it consumes. She questioned whether there was any use in having invested in solar in the first place – and it's a very good question. I guess that'd be my overrated thing. I tried recently going through Freeones, because clips and images are shared there of pornstars' latest scenes and I barely enjoyed that. I'm just so over that, and it's funny to say that when I watch Hentai pretty often too. Between that and basically solo content creators, I just like what isn't mainstream. Quote:
GPUs and CPU/motherboards being updated yearly, now that's overrated. I bought two GTX 980TIs, they were billed as super powerful and stuff, second only to the Titan X. But then Titan X TI came out, then the 10 series like the 1080, cheaper but powerful alternative with 1060, but it's still a bloated price game, pushing for 4K gaming and shit. Then monitors being ridiculous because you can't find the one perfect monitor to not only be future proof but support everything that's going on currently. I settled for an ultrawide, which is great, because back in the start of 2016, there were no good 4K monitors, unless you wanted a 4K TV. So, I just said screw it and went with an ultrawide. It's worse than video games. I love performance, but man some of the features pushed aren't necessary, you'd need the cash to supply every year or two. I wish shelf life and durability was put ahead of constantly upgrading and upgrading, leaving those who can't upgrade in the dust. And console makers have adapted that mentality unfortunately, what with the Xbox One S, and then the Xbox One X, PS4 Pro, fuck man. I did buy a PS4 Pro, but I didn't own a previous PS4, so, not an upgrade, just a new console I could afford at the time. The streaming craze made it worse too, because now people demand computers for streaming, companies bite that and make all this stuff, fueling that yearly CPU/GPU/motherboard tradition. I love computers, I just wish they were kind of treated like console generations, where every few years, a new CPU/motherboard/GPU come out. Just those, new hard drives and RAM? Fine, new PC cases? Fine. New keyboards, headsets, mice? Absolutely. Or at least make them affordable so that the yearly tradition isn't some money sucking thing. Sorry, I was rambling. Underrated. theme songs, namely in movies and how they're treated on Netflix, at least for me. I'm watching Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, really the first show I'm binging on through Netflix. I noticed when I start my session, the song plays, the video starts from the beginning, but when I go to the next episode on the queue, it starts right at the episode, not the intro piece. I don't like that, especially for Power Rangers with that amazing theme song, I'm 35 episodes deep and that has not gotten tiresome for me. On the movie front, there just seems to be an aversion to making a theme song, something to define a movie. If you asked me what my favorite movie themes are, they pretty much all go up to Lord of the Rings, early 2000s, nothing since then really is close. There seems to be more of an emphasis on score, which is fine, but go all out with one theme song, and then have a score that's super solid. Superhero movies kind of keep it alive, Avengers and I think the Dark Knight, Pirates of the Caribbean, franchises basically, they're still there, but no where near as prominent as the 80s for example. I mention franchises, but individual movies can have their own theme, that is dead these days. The Thing, Halloween before that became a franchise, Gremlins, the Dollars Trilogy movies, similar style since it's the same composer but each movie had a different theme, more epic than the last. That kind of achievement in music composition died out unfortunately. Minute long or more theme videos on TV are gone too, anime at least keeps that alive. I only skip those when I am dying to get to the story and it's the last 2 or so episodes, I just can't wait. For the most part, watch it all, and the ending themes, anime still keeps that alive as well. |

TV Ratings
Show me how and who votes and i might consider it otherwise pull the other one The Walking Dead S7 were the top raters in the 18-49 bracket Those sharing the show to earn money went elsewhere Something stinks with those ratings imho I could name other long running hit shows they dont bother with ease Same hit shows when sold to other countries use them like filler in between major sporting events Last edited by buttsie; February 8th, 2018 at 09:17 AM.. Example: here are two pictures of tv presenter Susanna Reid. In the first, a shot for a magazine (I'm guessing), she has all the sexual allure of an under-coat of white emulsion. In the second, a 'candid' shot, yes she's wearing make-up and probably expensive salon hair and so on, but if you look you can clearly see that she has some wrinkles etc (she is over 40), but by any measure, she looks stunning. Imo, the second pic is far superior to the first. I just don't understand why they do it. When I look at a picture of a beautiful woman, I want to see a beautiful woman, not something some design graduate has cooked up in photoshop. It naffs me off. |

overrated
- Ant and Dec - most Politicians ( closeted and useless bunch who come direct from University ) underrated - Fleetway Comics - Action , Battle , 2000ad genuine , well-researched Ww2 books that undermine the ' accepted myth ' of History eg Pregnable Fortress - by Peter Elphick - this shows the shocking full story and the hidden secrecy of the Historical Documents now released under the 30 year rule , that are showing - 1/ How Desertion was a far bigger factor in the Fall of Malaya and Singapore than ever realised 2/ How the Indian Army was undermined by malcontents like Gandhi and Nehru 3/ a hidden Traitor who gave away RAF Secrets only recently unmasked 4/ the shocking story of SS Automedon 5 / the cover up by Churchill of his bad decisions over Malaya 6/ the mistake of Admiral Pound over the choice of Admiral Tom Phillips for command of Force Z 7/ how little modern AA weapons were on board HMS Repulse and how poor the 5.25 inch guns on HMS Prince of Wales were as AA weapons - 8/ how fully Japanese Espionage was able to spy on Malaya in the early 1920's to the outbreak of war 9/ How the British Ambassador in Siam ( Thailand ) was duped and out of touch if ever a book opens your eyes to stuff , you thought you knew but didn't it was this one - the value of a good book , underrated - it shows that Percival was a lousy General but the fall of Malaya was not his fault alone - Monty or Slim could not have done much better |

under-rated -
copy protection on a photo or an art work drawing - or an original piece of work the motto of the internet should read ' if its on the internet - consider it stolen ' - always , always , have ' Microsoft paint ' cover it with alternate straight lines through the image - and your name on the image ( where it can't be easily overwritten or wiped ) Quite a few people are finding that stuff they post on the net or facebook are being hijacked and sold on T-Shirts in the far East - or elsewhere |

I wasn't given credit, and it does bother me. It's kind of a long story, but basically his explanation was to support the person. Through conversation with funny pictures and such, fine, but this person's been doing that already and I just feel the deep down motive is to be retweeted, as most of the time my GIF replies are retweeted. Cool, I don't see it as an ego boost, maybe he wants that. And I'm particular with already-made GIFs, like I was probably the last person to have made a GIF over laughing Willem Defoe at the Golden Globes. But I still made a GIF rather than lift off someone else's, it's more convenient for one, and I get the sense that it's my (menial) effort put to work. In fact, I'm not so fussed with people using other GIFs I've made, which only seems to happen on Chaturbate. I've made lots of GIFs that don't involve models, like The Room, Shia LeBeouf clapping, Pokemon, other stuff. I can't monitor all the streams but I've spotted people using GIFs I've made and being flattered they're used by other people, though truth be told I want to jump in the chat sometimes and point credit to myself. Copy-protection, nah, none of my stuff is really hidden, I just have to share a URL and it's there to be seen and used, but for model-specific GIFs, I'm more anal about the usage. As far as overrated things, franchises. Even though I haven't watched any ongoing franchise movie since 2016 (Avengers 2), I've had enough really. Marvel, I'll catch up because there's some seriously good stuff I keep reading and hearing about. DC, no. Man of Steel is meh at best, don't want to go down the drain, but I would watch Wonder Woman. Universal, even though it's so far The Mummy only, no. Pirates of the Caribbean, no, namely because my memories of them were good and I hadn't watched them in years. The fourth movie for example, haven't seen since 2013 maybe, and...I want it to stay that way really. Jurassic Park, maybe. Star Wars, I don't want to, but I feel I have to in order to avoid spoiler bullcrap. While the Oscars are far from an admirable indication of movies that would get me out of this franchise/superhero movie craze, they at least have a list, a to-watch list of movies to indulge for legitimate reasons. In the end though, I'll take my cult B-movies and entertainingly bad romps any day of the week. Underrated, can I use a person for this? Jeffrey Combs, Nicolas Cage gets all the spotlight for being a legendary over-actor, but I think Combs does that better and they enhance the film. Nic Cage tends to take one out of a film with his acting, sometimes it works like Vampire's Kiss. The acting there saves the movie because it's just a bland story really, he makes it more remarkable. Other times it doesn't work, The Wicker Man anyone? I mean hilarious stuff in that movie but as a whole? The movie still sucks. While I've only seen a handful of movies with Combs, every one I've seen has been great and he's a major part of it. Best performer in Re-Animator, From Beyond, Castle Freak. Steals the show in a packed movie, The Frighteners, B-movie stars and acting legends galore, he beats them all in that. Even Suburban Gothic, 2014 movie, he doesn't have a lot of screen time, but I enjoyed his scenes more than most of the other scenes at play. An exception is Cyclone, seemed to be a bit phoned in, but he wasn't in it for long, probably a quick job for him in between jobs. But yeah, I love this guy, I'm itching to watch Re-Animator again, he makes that movie, and the film's already great in my opinion. He elevates that film to being a classic for me. |

I have to agree with those who consider Prince one of the more overrated rock musicians of the 1980s/'90s. His major talents were making every instrument sound like percussion and making everything he touched turn to sex. Also overrated: Boobs. I'm a leg man, myself. |
