Unfortunately, not entirely true.
I've been using Opera for several years, after Firefox became way too slow and unstable for me quite a while ago. And whilst I was totally amazed how Opera worked in the beginning, due to all kind of trash that inevitably piled up inside the registry over the course of time, and in spite of using a descent antivirus and firewall, I wasn't at all immune to pop-ups/unders or any kind of protrusive advertising. On the contrary.
Don't get me wrong, my greatest sympathies still are reserved for Opera, I still think of it as the most convenient browser and the software made with much creativity. I don't know why, I just like Opera. But, it came close to unusable, for me that is.
I've been suffering a slow loading of VEF pages, and mainly just seeing the ads, not the stuff I wanted itself. And there's so much of that sh*t out there, I would actually be glad if I stumbled upon livejasmin, which became so familiar and close to me.
And then, a kind fellow member of VEF, buttsie, whose fine and helpful posts you can see in this thread too, introduced me to a completely new stuff: a revelation named "Pale Moon", which is basically a Firefox, but built with quirks of different PC configurations in mind. And a completely new era started for me and my vintage PC.

- Since no browser itself is enough a solution for any problem, the true reason I've decided to join this discussion was

the second revelation that came from a kind fellow member of VEF named DTravel. If you are a victim of protrusive advertising (and if you regularly visit porn sites, most likely you would be; majority of the humankind spends most of the free time in the process of porn content slow consumption, while unforgivingly wasting a meager percentage on some other, less useful activities, such as doing a business, paying something, getting a job, reading something, etc., thus making porn consumers a commercially valuable targets with "$" signs written all over them).
If you haven't already, please do check DTravel's powerful solution here

And also confirmed by anklebiter, on one of the previous pages of this very same thread, here.

The man literally saved my life. This "hosts" file trick is so effective, yet so simple, I now almost miss those few "all thread" lady stars, that were constantly settled at the bottom of every page, and somewhere in the top area.

It worked perfectly, at least for me.
And the main advantage gained, to put aside significantly shortened page loading time, is not the elimination of "livejasmin" (at least on VEF, though an annoyance, it was a one-timer, just at the first visit, and easy to close). As I remember, CalumH mentioned this here, too - the most disturbing thing were actually a series of gifs that loaded at the top and the bottom of "imagebam" and for me often on "imagevenue" pages, (not just at the first visit, but permanently) with a gross content of some brutal rape-alike scenes and a lot of excremental nastiness close-ups, that actually compelled me to squint, or not to look at the display while waiting for a desired pic to load. And I am not at all that delicate and squeamish, I visit various types of bizarre and "dark side" oriented threads (naturally, exclusively when it's obvious it is all just acting, and done with a dose of good taste), but these were just too damn ugly.

Please, if you are having such problems, try the efficient method suggested by DTravel, and a team of good fellows who wrote the file. You'll find all the necessary information there. It just demolished all the ads. I don't see them anymore.

Thanks buttsie, Numerous One, and, by extension, DTravel. I'll check these suggestions out.
And, Numerous One, I'm glad it wasn't just me that found those particular GIFs offensive.
And, buttsie, your avatar is just 'wooohooo!!', good work!

The HOSTS file is a great solution, I've been using it for like 10 years when I was on Windows, I got so used to it that I didn't even notice the buttloads of crappy advertisements and other scripts on adult sites.

A few years ago I completely switched to Linux (Ubuntu in this case) so I don't have to deal with most of the nasty stuff that's specifically designed for Windows; although I still use Adblock on Firefox and Chrome. Never tried Noscript because I don't need it, but from what I've heard, it's useful.

I am using chrome, as my browser.

To combat pop-ups I'm using Adblock as well as JavaScript PopUp Blocker.

This seems to take care of most of the pop ups on this site, in fact AdBlocker pretty much does everything by itself.

However with the "continue to your image" Adblocker, seems to blocking it, but I then have to manually go in and slide a slider until the image appears which is time consuming and annoying.

Does anyone know of a way to bypass the "continue to your image" page in chrome?
