FrostBite Falls (International Falls Mn) was -36F (actual temp,not wind-chill) the other day. I'm stuck with this.

Make Perth your winter home as then you are only a boat ride away from your beloved quokka's. It get's a bit hot over there but good air con fixes that. Places are cheap over there too.

Kevin here. It is already early Monday morning in New Zealand, so effCup has already had his New Year's celebration, but there is still time for aussieland. It is now 8:17 p.m. in Perth, 9:17 p.m. in Darwin, and 10:17 p.m. in Melbourne and Sydney. Have a Happy New Year my fellow Australian and New Zealand members. It's only just after 6 a.m. in America, so I have the whole day left, although I go to bed early so I won't see the annual countdown to the new year, but being as old as I am I have seen dozens of those countdowns in Chicago and the big one in New York City on t.v.!

Kevin here. It is now 2018 all around the world. I did not stay up until midnight , but I did go to bed a little later than usual, because I wanted to have three drinks of my favorite whiskey. It helped me sleep, Unlike many parts of the world Chicago does not have a fireworks display for New Years Eve. It's too cold for that. Last night the temperatures fell below 0 degrees F. The northern half of America is under an artic grip that won't end until January 6th, when temperatures rise into the upper 20's F for the next week and beyond.
