Chinese film star Chow Yun Fat plans to donate his entire net worth of US$714m to charity, according to Hong Kong movie site Jayne Stars.

According to the report, the 63-year-old award-winning artist leads a modest life despite his wealth and status. He stays frugal by taking public transportation and shopping at discount clothing stores. He has also been using a simple Nokia mobile phone for almost two decades.

Chow revealed in an earlier interview with the same website that he only spends around HK$800 (US$102) a month.

and hotels goes toward feeding the poor and hungry in Montreal.

From a modest storefront in suburban Longueuil, on Montreal’s South Shore, La Tablée des Chefs has now expanded to Calgary, Ottawa and Toronto, as well as Mexico City and Paris, where the executive chef to French President Emmanuel Macron recently came on board. And this month, the group partnered with Hellmann’s and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment to launch the Real Food Rescue program, taking fresh surplus food from Scotiabank Arena and redistributing it to families who need it most.

Sometimes it’s pasta filled with duck, or ribs, or beef brochettes. There are cheese plates and cold-cut platters — delicious high-end food that in the past would have gone straight to the garbage

away from a nail salon because of her disability, Ebony Harris stepped up to help.

The two women picked out the perfect polish, sat down at the Subway restaurant inside the store, and
Harris spent her lunch break painting Peters’s nails.

in Monessen, Pennsylvania, around 5 a.m. to shine shoes at UMPC Children’s
Hospital of Pittsburgh over 30 miles away. He donated his tips to the hospital’s
Free Care Fund, which helps support under- and uninsured children in western
Pennsylvania. In all it amounted to $202,000.
He made an appearance on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” and he was honored at
a Major League Baseball All-Star Game...he was later added to the Hall of
Fame for Caring Americans in Washington, D.C.

He told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette upon his retirement in 2013, “I wanted to see the kids get well. … I made myself happy.”
