Ever see this phrase on a T-shirt or bumper sticker? I don't have to thank a teacher. I taught myself how to read. Some children have the ability to associate the sounds they hear with the symbols on the page. I never gave it a thought until I read an article about the phenomenon in the paper.

My parents found out in a surprising way. We were coming home from my grandparent's house and we passed by a local diner that had it's motto on a sign. A little voice from the backseat said, "Deco, Buffalo's Best Cup of Coffee." My mom asked my equally surprised older sister if she had told me to say that and she had not.

When I was enrolled in kindergarten, mom told the people at the school that I could read. I got all the way to a 4th-grade reader when I mispronounced the word "galloped." When mom found out that I was being brought into other classes to shame students who couldn't read well, she raised holy hell.

I was an early reader too, The teacher used to get Me to help other pupils with Their reading,Which is a good way to become hated..

At aged six was cast in the part of Joseph for my school nativity.
Joseph Stalin that is.
Unfortunately was a method actor at the time.
Still don't want to dwell on it.
Let`s just say a few of my fellow actors died during rehearsals.

By the way, I've seen a lot of people in Brasil having six fingers instead of five on one hand or one foot. I really was impressed by this fact.

I used to be the fastest reader in first grade without making one single mistake. My teacher had to yell "stop" sometimes when I was reading to the class. But if someone asked me what I've just read, I couldn't tell.
