Why is it so incredible difficult to find interviews of former teen porn stars ? [moved]
Its no problem to find interviews of porn stars, not only the actual stars, but also from stars of the 80s and 90s who came back as MILFs, but also from retired stars who are interviewed today (for example Seka ), but it is incredible difficult finding interviews from stars of the northern european teen porn movies of the 70s and 80s. Any clues why ?

Caroline-NL:
My experience with Northern Europeans is that they are considerably more reserved and private than Americans. In the U.S. we often talk to people we don't know, even about private matters. Thus, it is not suprising that more American actresses or foriegn actresses still in the buisiness will give interviews. For whatever reason, most Northern European teen porn actresses were never cultivated into true pornstars (CeeCee girls, etc...)---I suspect there is a story there. Many of them were under the age of 18, and probably acted without their parents/family's knowledge (and want to keep it that way). Others may have had serious problems: abusve parents/boyfriends/pimps, drug addiction, etc... and simply do not want to relive that period of their lives. Oral history is extremely difficult when controversy or bad memories are involved, but it is likely that some sociologist/historian somewhere has scored an interview with at least a few of them. OBVIOUSLY, the interviews could not be published because of privacy issues. But somebody has probably used them as part of larger studies invoving sexuality and porn culture during the 1970's. I would search academic journals, and contact the authors of any articles where you think interviews may have been used. (Be sure to explain that you are a scholar and doing research). ALSO, check court cases in Denmark that are public record (not sure if it's same as U.S.). If an actress was in a dispute with a studio or involved in a crime there may be testimony and attorney examinations where she discusses her acting job. |

some declined to answer, or dont drop details. This is totally ok, when they assured confidentiality. I am only wondering, why we have dozens of dozens of dozens of interviews with US porn models, a few with swedish models, a lot of "commercial interviews" with dutch models ( interviews made by the producer and printed in house mags ), even on Video, but no independent interviews with dutch models, and almost no interviews with scandinavian models at all. Its a contradiction. US society was always very closed regarding sexuality porn, but here you have zillions of interview, northern european society was much more open, but here you have very, very few interviews. |

a theory
Porn actresses from the 70's/80's should now be in their 50's or close to that.
Maybe married, with kids or or grand children and quite happy that this period is not re-called. The recruitment of actors was probably different than today, more an "amateur" than a professional approach. I think the Porn-making at this time was less industrialized/professionalized than today, the idea of marketing the products/models was not really there, hence no Promoters/PR agents and all the staff which normally makes interviews happen (and writes the text)

ARTE TV had 2 interesting docus 2-3 years ago, where two former models (not very well known talked). They didnt thought, that anybody would be interested in these movies 5 or 10 years later......
It was a different time, between the anti-baby pill and before HIV. But apart from that, porn was very commercial too. Commercial interests were - at least in DK and NL - the biggest fighter against for porn liberalization. ( Theander Bros. and Wenderhold ) The big difference was, that not all of the models/producers had ONLY commercial interests. If some idiots werent exploiting, abusing and ignoring the liberal laws, yes, I am especially thinking of the aforementioned bros., I am sure, we could had preserved much, much more of this time. At least this was possible in the Netherlands until the millennium. Last edited by Caroline-NL; April 24th, 2008 at 12:41 PM.. |

@Caroline-NL
Your English on the last post was a little confusing. Could you please clarify a little. I remember an excellent series of posts you made a while ago concerning the Theanders, and how they constantly broke the law by producing child porn. Is that what you meant in your previous post here? Or do you know from your research that legal actresses were being exploited somehow, or had been exploited as illegal actresses before reaching legal age? You seem to be the most well read on this topic. |

.....
It shouldnt be confusing, but it should be interpreted. I dont want to open up this topic again, I only wanted to clarify, that this isnt the main reason, that it is so difficult to find interviews or the stars of the past..

I think it might be because they are no longer doing porn or just don't want to be reminded of their past indiscretions when they were young. Of course I have no idea why they would not do interviews is they are still doing porn

The word "teen" must be one of the most widely misused and abused one in the industry.As teen porn stars only have 2 years in which to work legally perhaps there just aren't that many of them.
