There's a version of it up here- e.g. "corned beef" = deaf , "winners and losers" = trousers - honestly, it works if you've got a strong Scottish accent

Noticed in the paper this morning-the winner of the most obscure title for a book was 'Cooking with Poo' written by a Thai cook and incidentally that is the word for Crab apparently in Thai.

Did you notice the news story an elephant who stopped for a coffee in Canada and then the handlers lost control of it and it ran amok!

Distinctly cooler today, I wonder if putting away the winter jumpers was a good move? Bright and sunny mind you.

People over here are going crazy over the lottery again. The Mega Millions lottery jackpot has increased to an estimated $540 million for tonights drawing.

Of course, every news report is having it as their lead story be it a local station or a national broadcast. I had to skip past two different news crews on my way to work today.

All the old stories are being dragged out about how winning the lottery doesn't make your life any better and you have experts on the TV talking about how you should just work hard and be smart with your money because that is the best way to secure your financial future.

It seems to me we went through the same thing just a couple of months ago when it was the PowerBall jackpot that was up into the hundreds of millions. No doubt we will be doing it again in a couple of months when it happens with some other lottery.

What an idiotic thing to do store petrol or decant it in your kitchen-funnily enough watching the text messages that come in from viewers for Question Time(for they were debating this issue last night) a man texted who was a fireman said he was astounded that anyone would use a plastic container for petrol in the first place i.e. a jerry-can. I can't say I am not surprised, it was an accident waiting to happen sooner or later.

Speaking of lotteries and big wins reminded me of the interview that I saw with Alan Whicker two days ago on Talk at the BBC (BBC4) where clips of rare and memorable interviews were played. Whicker talked to Viv Nicholson, who you may recall was the woman that won on the Pools back in the sixties and when asked what she would do with the money yelled out "I'm going to SPEND, SPEND, SPEND!! She paid the ultimate price with her husband crashing his Jaguar car and killing himself and she lost a lot of money thanks to bad management. I wonder sometimes if winning massive amounts of money can only bring you problems because the average person cannot cope with such huge amounts of money - they have advisors available to help people these companies but in the end it is the individual that makes decisions. The urge to spend is probably immense(see The Syndicate BBC1) but in the end, does it bring you happiness? I don't think so, unless you know how to manage it. All the same a few million wouldn't go amiss
