I believe it is the same kind of behavior as, while you're driving on the highway, you get stuck in a traffic jam and later find out it is because there is an accident on the other side... and you just start speeding again after you have seen as much as possible of the traffic jam.

P.S. Or is all this a marketing campaign to promote the upcumming iPhone Sex? Well, glad I don't have an iPhone anymore.

Default stupid celebs and their i phones

You have to love the stupidity of celebs these days

Lets take some naked shots of myself on my phone and then store them on the cloud, that way thers no way anyone will be able to see them.

Der! hello welcome to the real world - computers are easy to hack and if you store nude pics of yourself on a public server, well someones going to find them.

And if you walk around with your wifi and bluetooth always switched on, your just making it even easier to be hacked.

Celebs stupid but if it means more nude pics of them on the web - keep being stupid.

Exactly. If you're a celeb (or not) don't take salacious shots with a freakin phone. Get an old school polaroid camera and do it the safe way.
Now when I see Jennifer Lawrence I won't think "Hunger Games", I'll see Jennifer with a big glob of spooge oozing out of her mouth.

I'll admit I'm interested in seeing some of the the leaked pics, sure, but I'm not going to somehow justify that impulse by suggesting the women in the pics are 'stupid' for having fun with their phones/cams/computers in private and somehow deserve it when those pictures get ripped and leaked.

In no way should any of these women be shamed and blamed for their actions.

To do so while getting off on the photos is just plain creepy.

It's possible, I think, to have an interest in seeing the pictures while also not condemning the women involved. I'd thought that would be the prevailing view here?

There is something remarkably creepy and self-serving in some of the comments in this thread. How hard is it to see the difference between models who have chosen to pose nude and people who had assumed that their privacy was, well, private. On top of being cheated and robbed these women are mocked by people in this thread. Perhaps they were naive to trust a cloud storage site but to call them stupid, to gloat over the pictures is just plain crude and cruel. You can safely bet that most of those gloating and mocking would never do so in public or face to face with these women or their representatives.

This is bringing up an interesting bit of hypocrisy in Hollywood as to who's images can be acceptably hacked and which ones can't. The entire fucking industry is crying bloody murder for Jennifer Lawrence but laughed at Vanessa Hudgens for the same thing.

Lawrence probably has a right to be angry because now for all the world to see we see her on the casting couch and most cynics are now yelling "now we know how she got her Oscar." Basically her career is over after Hunger Games. No big loss because frankly she cannot act to save her life anyway.

Which brings me to something I've been noticing over the last decade. While pop stars are looking one in the same with porn stars in terms of extreme over sexualization, the movies are getting darker and sexless. You can't be a ladies' man in movies anymore and nudity is really disappearing. (Bond is practically gay now and everyone is so oversensitive to "objectifying" women that sexual content has greatly diminished.) While many blame 9/11 and everything being oh so dark, (the Christopher Nolanization of all action movies rendering them all joyless,) but I blame the celebrity sex tape. Why? Because nobody does nude scenes after they've had nude photos or sex tapes leaked. We don't get it professionally lit with studio quality cameras, just awkward "selfies" and tapes that show next to nothing.

I have no sympathy for the Kate Uptons and Jennifer Lawrences of the world. Upton in particular got famous for "risque" selfies in the first place and nothing that got leaked looked much different, save for baseball boyfriend of the week's man ass in the shots. If you have a fetish for getting naked and filming it, it WILL get out there and more often than not I think these folks want that. (Pamela Anderson being the worst offender and probably the one big example of a sex tape ruining a career.) I am only angry because countless quality nude payoffs in film and Playboy were lost in the blink of an eye. Who cries for ME????

you may have a point regarding hypocracy; your assessment of Ms Lawrence's talent is your personal opinion but the trajectory of her career indicates that not many people agree with you, but the fact is her personal, private property was robbed. That is not the same as piracy. And it's one thing perhaps to call out hypocracy but another to call people stupid because they were merely human. Some of the comments in this thread like a lot of the comments floating around on the web when the women tried to defend themselves are shockingly creepy. You may not like the limits Ms Upton put on the presentation of her body, you may find it hypocritical but she is within here rights and there are those out there (and I don't imply that you are one) who are being cruel and crude about it. Those people demonstrate their own character and reveal much more about themselves and it's creepy. Where is the joke in being robbed? What entitles a person to make obscene comments about another just because she was the victim of a crime?

It's one thing to celebrate the talents of models and actors at the top of their game which is what this entire forum is about; it's quiet another to gloat over the victims of a crime.

Justin Verlander(guy in the pics with Upton) refuses to comment:
Quote:
CLEVELAND (AP) — Justin Verlander wants to keep his private life just that — private.
The Tigers' star pitcher commented for the first time Tuesday after nude photos of him and model girlfriend Kate Upton were allegedly hacked from an online account and posted on the Internet.
Verlander, who initially declined comment on the situation, spoke to reporters before Detroit played the Indians.
"I'm not going to comment on my personal life," the 31-year-old said. "I never have and I never plan on it. I keep my personal life personal. The focus for me is on the Detroit Tigers. I don't want to take any focus away from this team and what we're trying to accomplish. We're in the middle of a pennant race. We're trying to win a pennant and all of my focus currently is on doing whatever I can to help our team win our division."
Verlander, Upton and other celebrities, including Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence, allegedly had photos stolen and posted online. The FBI has launched an investigation.
Verlander knew there was interest in his side of the story and wanted to address the situation.
"I know a couple of guys wanted to get some questions from me yesterday," Verlander said. "Instead of everybody kind of sneaking around and getting questions at specific times, it's just easier to say, 'I'm not commenting on that. I'm trying to win a pennant.' I know some guys are probably getting a lot of pressure from other people to get quotes or whatever. I knew I'd be getting a lot of questions. This is it."
The AL MVP and Cy Young Award winner in 2011, Verlander has always been able to block out distractions. He's dealt with a shoulder injury this season and takes a 12-11 record into Wednesday's start against the Indians.
"I've always been good at that," Verlander said of ignoring outside influences. "This is my life. Baseball's my life. You're able to focus on that especially when you're on the mound doing what I've done my whole life."
Verlander did not comment specifically on the photos.
Apple says no breach of it's systems:

Quote:
LOS ANGELES (AP) — As federal investigators worked Tuesday to determine who stole and posted nude photos of several female celebrities online, the images continued to be removed from various sites.
Copyright complaints apparently prompted the removal of the image from sharing site ********** and rendered links on the social networking site Reddit inoperable in what experts call an online version of "whack-a-mole" that will never fully scrub the intimate photos of Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence and other stars from the Internet.
Apple said Tuesday that its engineers have determined that hackers breached individual accounts, but didn't obtain general access to a pair of its services, iCloud and Find my iPhone. While the tech giant released the results after it said it conducted 40 hours of investigation, law enforcement inquiries likely will take days or weeks to complete.
The FBI offered no details Tuesday on its efforts to identify the people responsible for stealing the images and posting them, but said on Monday that the agency was aware of the breach and was "addressing the matter." Previous investigations have involved the use of search warrants and digital forensics to determine how hackers obtained everything from Paris Hilton's contact list to nude photos of actresses Scarlett Johansson and Mila Kunis.
Lawrence, a three-time Oscar nominee who won for her role in "Silver Linings Playbook," contacted authorities after the images began appearing Sunday. By Tuesday, a Reddit thread that had been compiling links to images of nude photos of Lawrence and other celebrities had been disabled "due to a copyright claim." Users reported difficulty finding working links to the images on other sites, although they remained active on sites that specialize in online piracy.
Representatives of Twitter, Reddit and Imgur did not respond to messages Tuesday. Apple said it was cooperating with the FBI and urged users to adopt stronger passwords and enable the two-step authentication feature to prevent.
Naked images purporting to be of other stars also were posted, although the authenticity of many couldn't be confirmed.
Mark Rasch, a former federal prosecutor who specialized in computer crimes, said investigators will focus on not only who's responsible for the theft of the photos, but the tools they used and even the idiosyncrasies of how they program.
"There is a digital trail," Rasch said. "What you hope for (is) the people aren't very good at what they do, that they screw up, that they (upset) other hackers. Or that they leave a trail."
While investigations may span months — and different continents — Rasch said sometimes authorities will catch an early break or get a tip that leads them to suspects. The investigations are difficult, he said, but "It's equally difficult to get away with it scot free."
In the past decade, federal prosecutors have successfully prosecuted a Massachusetts teenager who hacked Hilton's phone account and posted her contact list online, as well as a Florida man who stole nude photos of Johansson, Kunis and singer Christina Aguilera. The teenager was sentenced to several months in jail, while a federal judge in 2012 ordered Christopher Chaney imprisoned for 10 years for the hack that targeted Johansson.
The people responsible for stealing the Lawrence photos may also be tracked by private investigators who can operate faster than government agents, said Rasch, whose company Rasch Technology and Cyberlaw has conducted similar investigations but is not working on the current data breach.
Lawrence and other stars who were hacked are now confronting on a very personal level a problem that has dogged the entertainment industry for years — online piracy.
"Even if you can get it taken down, it's likely to pop up somewhere else," said F. Jay Dougherty, a law professor at Loyola Law School Los Angeles who specializes in entertainment and intellectual property issues.
Mickey Osterreicher, a media lawyer and general counsel for the National Press Photographers Association, said that while a successful copyright complaint could scrub the images from a site forever, Lawrence and other celebrities will have to remain vigilant and continue filing takedown notices.
"You have to go to each place," he said. "It's kind of like playing whack-a-mole."
