Some more grouse sheilas (translated from Aussie means 'lovely ladies' or similar).

Back in pre-digital days I would clip the pics and put them in a spiral bound notebooks -- real cut and paste without a mouse

. After scanning these ones I never got around to separating and retouching, but they're fairly good scans so I'm presenting them au naturel. Hope that's okay.

Whoopsbanana mentioned that he was missing the BNT Winter 1995 catalogue. Fortuitously it is one that I had laying around waiting to be scanned.

This is my first post here. I'm not totally new at scanning, but still learning, so please make suggestions. There are another 25 or so pages (4 pix/page) to scan, so refining things as I move along might be good.

I think these are all new images here. I spent a long time scouring this thread (a cruel, thankless job

) so I could avoid dups. While the models and maybe three or four of images from this catalog have been seen here before, I don't think this particular catalog has been scanned previously. Let me know if I'm mistaken.

This is a '90 or '91 catalog, abandoned by my university roommate's GF. I still have it, to the continuing annoyance of Mrs. Lefty

. Cheap paper & small images have made it a bit challenging.

Here's a random bunch of my catalogue and magazine scans from the 80s and early 90s. Looking back at those catalogues makes me wonder why on earth anyone would have a "No Junk Mail" sticker on their letterbox.

This selection was scanned in the early 90s so I guess that makes them doubly vintage. They are smallish and the quality is not up to 21st century scans, but at the time they looked awesome on Windows 3.11 with 800x600 VGA CRT. I spent many hours scanning these for then now defunct Kirstie's Undies Page at Geocities. Posting at VEF for posterity.

Bond's Cottontails were the quintessential Australian women's and girls's underpants from the 50s to the 80s. They were manufactured in several plants across the country along with the iconic Chesty men's vests (aka wifebeater) and babies' Wondersuits.

Cottontails popularity declined as skimpier styles pushed 'granny panties' aside followed by Hanes and Sloggi entering the market. Then Australia forgot how to make things and the plants started closing down. Thanks in part to Bridget Jones and the craze for vintage dresses Cottontails have enjoyed a revival in recent years and they are selling strongly again.

The original design was licensed in the 50s from Munsingwear in the US but most seem to forget that. Indeed the current Cottontails are labelled "Designed in Australia. Made in China". These days the Bond's brand is owned by Hanes. After the takeover a newspaper article mused on the Hanes execs not understanding how 30 million pairs of Cottontails were produced the previous year but very few ladies owned up to buying them in market research surveys. Perhaps Aussie ladies consider 'granny panties' to be 'unmentionables' like their grannies did.

These pics from 1962 to 1982 appeared in the Australian Women's Weekly. The scans were downloaded from the Australian National Library website which maintains a collection of vintage magazines and periodicals.

BTW. The Austalian Women's Weekly was a weekly magazine from 1933-1982. Since 1982 it has been a monthly magazine, but for some reason they haven't renamed it as the Women's Monthly.
