I’ve once saw Sarah Fergusson, the Duchess of York once.
It was way back in July 1992. My school was doing some kind of special occasion or ceremony (or something like that, I cant remember what), and my class had to travel all the way to the place that she was visiting (I also forget the reason why she was going there). Anyway, we all lined up alongside the road leading up to this building, and after a while a posh limo came past-and we saw her sitting in the back. We all gave a little wave to her-and she gave a little wave back to us! And we watched has the car drove up to the building, and she got out and greeted the man in charge there. And best of all, it even appeared on the local news that evening I’ve also had the dubious honour of actually seeing Timmy Mallet in person when I was younger. Yes, THE Timmy Mallet! It was back during the very early 90’s (sometime between 1990 and 1992), although I do remember it being the summertime because of all the hot sunshine coming in through the windows. Anyway, he had come to my local town to open a new shop (or something like that), and although I didn’t get chance to speak to him face-to-face, I did see him. And what struck me was that he was exactly like he was on TV-the same gaudy clothing & silly glasses, the same hyperactive personality, even that a big foam hammer of his! Wish I’d ask for his autograph now…. |

Patrick McNee. He walked right past me at Heathrow Terminal 1 in July 1985. During my 7th grade class trip to D.C. a few of us saw Speaker of the House Tip O' Neal in the Capitol, February '81.

I'd love to talk with him. What a fascinating encounter, for me !, that would be! Mind you, he'd probably get me locked up for scientific study! Cosoi mentioned meeting Placido Domingo. I have met all the 'Three Tenors', many times. Two of them are wonderful people, the third........ well, naming no names, but I won't speak ill of the dead! Placido is a very warm and genuine guy, always happy to meet people. He is, IMO, largely responsible for bringing opera to the masses. José too is a very charming gentleman, as most of my family can testify, as I have introduced most of them to him. Super, thoughtful and caring guys, both of them!

Sarah Silverman & Jimmy Kimmel, at festival years ago. She was beautiful, great figure.
Surprisingly (?) they were both pretty nice and tolerant of the crowds of pot addled folks who wanted to chat with them. No entourage, no obvious security, they were walking around buying food from the vendors Silverman in particular was very much not the character she plays, which is nasty and prickly. Seemed just like a nice girl . . . Oh, and I met Chiyonofuji, the Sumo wrestler. A mountain of a man. Japanese aren't huge, but he was like a brick wall . . . seemed a nice enough dude. |

Three more I'd like to add here.
Firstly, I once saw RICK WALLER in the highstreet of my local town once. For those who don't know him, he was the (ahem) obese singer who made it into the finalists on the UK TV show Pop Idol. He also appeared on Celebrity Fit Club has well. Also, I think I once saw an actress called NATALIE BLAIR, who use to play CAMILLA CAMMENTI in the Australian TV Soap Neighbours, eating at McDonalds at Bluewater. (she's the one on the left): http://i199.photobucket.com/albums/aa178/moodthemeavies/June%20Scans/Fire1a.jpg And: http://d3lp4xedbqa8a5.cloudfront.net...UpSizing=False I say think because, at the time we weren't sure whether it was her or someone who just looked like her, and no one had the guts to actually ask her at the time! And back in 1997, my family once met SHAW TAYLOR (who use to do a TV show in the UK called Police 5 back in the 1980's) when we were on the Isle of Wright. The first time we saw him he was eating in a restuarant in Freashwater, and a while later we met him walking alone the seafront. We actually stopped & had quite a nice chat with him! |

Most politicians usually do don't they?..... Unless there is an election imminent, or the press and cameras are close by of course!

I've seen NIGEL FARAGE, leader of the UK Independance Party.
There's been a lot of talk of local bielections lately, and his party has been doing a lot of promotion in the run up to these elections. I saw him at some kind of PR event not far from my home. There was a big crowd there, and he came out the door of a building and made some grand speech to the crowd (although I stayed at the back of the crowd out of the way). I even took some pictures on my phone, although these having really came out has well as I had hoped. Of course all the press were there with their cameras and microphones recording everything, and it was on the local news that evening. Will I be voting UKIP at next years election? In all honesty, I'm not sure..... I get the feeling they are a bit of a two-edged sword-some of their polices I agreee with, others I feel are somewhat dubious... It remains to be seen. |
