Guy Fawkes was great! I still remember the sky rockets being launch out of beer bottles in my cousins backyard. I don't know how my dad and uncle never set the back fence or paddock on fire. They'd have those spinning wheels going on a wooden fence. One took off across the yard one year.

If you are married, the day must be observed. So if you have kids in the U.S. you must observe Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, her birthday (conveniently forgetting the number of years), and your anniversary. Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Halloween are all products of modern marketing and the advertising industry. Quote:

We do, but it's more something you do or not do on your own initiative rather than being obligatory...or when you're young or get your photo in the local rag for being happily married for a century. As for father's day, I sure I've still got some unopened bottles of Old Spice out in a box in the garage.

Kevin here. G'day mates(actually it is 11 p.m. down under). Long ago when I was young all the men who worked for labor unions(plumbers, carpenters, brick masons, painters, plasterers, electricians, floor people, metal workers, etc,) were all caucasian and true blue American. Not anymore. No longer are male children following in their father's footsteps and joining the family business. Every kid now wants to go into computers or business. That where the big money is.
My question is what is it like in Australia? Are most of your labor people local Australians or foreigners from Poland, Czechs, Serbia, Bosnia, Russia, etc? |
