Readers Digest subscriptions
The lengths these people will go to to get you to subscribe to their magazine.
About a year ago I received a couple of editions in the mail. Then they sent a bill, which may of been okay, if I had asked for them in the first place. Seems they now have somehow penetrated Youtube!, with initial offers of cash and B.M.W giveaways and at the end of a zombie movie preview - no less. Geez, if I wanted to read truncated condensed versions of books I would never buy, I'd go and visit my dentist. |

Bankers - greedy, grasping, conniving, bottom-feeding, low-life scumbags. Just too many of them, frankly I think they may be giving TB to cattle and need to be culled.
Right I feel a lot better now. |

BBC news is pushing that vitally important story of David (Crack addict eyes )Tennants last appearance on the bum clenching embarrassment that is Dr Who , couldn`t tell you why though ?. Oh wait , it`s one of BBC1`s so called flagship shows isn`t it and so completely newsworthy and not at all a repetitive prolonger advertisement for the up coming special
Also their news team today is ONCE AGAIN promoting something that effects us daily and dearly , only in keeping with the rules of impartially i won`t write what

Council Tax!
Today I had to visit my local council office and was immediately struck by just how palatial, and indeed sumptuous, the office was. The council have recently had a major refurbishment of their offices and the results are nothing short of spectacular! Who has paid for all this largess? Yes, us, the poor council tax payers'. Never mind that the roads and pavements are crumbling away, never mind that the street lighting is in an appalling condition, never mind that social provisions (a responsibility of the council) are being drastically reduced - the main priority is that council staff work in luxurious surroundings.

If you travel by train in Finland and lost or forget your luggage or vintage-umbrella to train nearby Helsinki you must travel to another site of town next day when even asking it. At Central station there`s not such thing as "Lost luggage office", all the items will mysteriously travel two miles to east from station.
"Lost items"-office is now run by (surprise!) private company, not Finnish Railways. So if you want to only ask your lost mitten or erm... "purple long thing made of rubber" you have to pay for bus to get there. If they got your lost stuff, it costs you 30 € service-fee. So if you are japanese tourist and lost your camera and want to get it back on same day you are in trouble, unless you are lucky enough to find some friendly local fanatic who loves to shout at bureaucratics because of this new system, which is only four years old. So, on this point of view Finland is just one stinky banana-state with Soviet-flavour. Is there`s any good sides about this stupidity? I haven`t lost any luggage for ages! To be honest, maybe eight years ago I had a lot of things to carry and I was dead-tired so I forgot my backpack to train. That backpack was fully loaded with porn-DVDs and few high quality rubberfetish- magazines. So I phoned to station, introduced myself, told my problem and asked if there`s any backpack found. Man with low tone said "Yes, there is". So I travelled there next day to get my backpack. On counter there was a old lady who checked my ID and asked on all her bureaucratic, almost militant tightness: "What`s in the bag?" Suddenly I felt hot and sweaty and answered "Films". She opened the backpack, stared there maybe few seconds too long and said "This is your bag", she looked like that she had seen something very shocking, so I thanked her kindly and gave her a tip, "for moral damage"! Few minutes later I checked what was the first thing you saw in backpack when opened, it was this: Memories, oh, memories! Last edited by Futuro; October 30th, 2009 at 08:52 PM.. |

Popups
I hate pop-ups but accept they are a form of advertising so I tolerate most of them. However, I draw the line at adverts for gambling sites. They are even more annoying than those adverts that tell me there are girls in my local area desperate to meet me.
