Reasons to be cheerful, 1 2 3*

*The title of this thread is based on a song by the late, great Ian Dury, and the Blockheads.

I had a good day today, things have gone right for me.

My car passed it's MOT inspection (a mandatory annual test for all cars over three years old)
I finally managed to get my obstinate printer wirelessly connected to my computer, after several months of occasional effort
I discovered that I am at my lowest weight this year.

What three things have gone your way this day/week/month, what have you got to be cheerful about?

1. I successfully fobbed off all the people who wanted me to shut down their furnaces and start coolers too early this year, good thing because it is now unseasonably snowing and freezing!

2. The other day my mother told me I am a good man. My mother does not say things like that. Ever.

3. While it snows and freezes outside I enjoy a warm day off at home, snug as a bug in a rug.

1. I won a tenner on the lottery.

2. I met my old mate and work colleague Neil (the classiest black dude you can imagine). Not seen him for about a year and a half - and we had a big, spontaneous man-hug.

3. I had a big pizza for dinner.

I managed to spread five tons of gravel without having a heart attack.

I haven't had a fag for 3 weeks and have saved 150 quid.

- I had an "uneventful" lunch with the in-laws.

- My in-laws paid for lunch.

- My in-laws went home.

Been a pretty good day all in all.

1, My Football team won it's second game of the year

2, It's day 1 of 5 off
3, Got a huge night out this Saturday with my oldest and closest Mates, boy's only night out ...... mischief time
