God Save the Queen - the National Anthem (I like the Sex Pistols Version)

The title of England’s national anthem is bad enough. "God Save the Queen" is a title that suggests that all the people of England and the Provinces are merely serfs and servants beneath a tyrannical and all seeing Biblical God and a monarch whose authority comes from a time when the people of England were still burning "witches" alive. What a fucking legacy.

Then the words!

Destroy the enemies of England! But then pray for your crimes and you will be alright! You can be a completely Machiavellian Piece of Shit, as long as you pray to God afterwards.

With a tune about as inspiring as a funeral march. Just fucking terrible in every way.

Apologies if this has been mentioned before (I looked, but didn't see it anywhere) but there was a dreadful song in the mid-70s called 'You Light Up My Life', sung by Debby Boone, daughter of 50s crooner Pat Boone. Back then my hand-me-down car only had AM radio, so my choices were country, talk radio, or pop stations that seemed to play that song 24/7. To this day, if I hear that song, I look around in hopes of finding a discarded (but loaded) automatic weapon.

I remember my local radio dj once saying after the song had finished what an absoute pile of pants it really was. It's not exactly cringe worthy but not one of his best.
