You might be interested to know there are discussions going on about another Alien movie, and Sigourney sounds interested. You may have a stand alone. Series best for me is Babylon 5. Fantastic box set and JMS commentary is great. Five seasons plus a movie box set. Honourable mention Top Gear Collection 2.0. Movie best would be The Lord of the Rings, directors cut, each movie in its own box. After you get through the movies there are 10's of hours of entertaining additional material. Wonderful. I am very pleased that I got my Indiana Jones boxed set before the latest movie. Cheers.

Finished watching The Wire box sets this morning and without a doubt i have to say this show is the ultimate cop show . Mean i used to think nothing could beat Homicide Life On The Streets , but this baby blew it away. Only thing disappointing about it is the fact there`s not going to be anymore of them . That and the second season wasn`t up to the same standards as the other four and had some really annoying sub-characters. But then i should have known by the title theme, which is the poorest of the lot. Coincidently the theme i liked most is season four , which also happens to be the best of the five in my opinion

The Sarah Silverman Program
The format and subject matter of her show might not appeal to everyone but I find her very funny and very cute , never more so than when she has her hair down. The sister`s attractive to, just a pity there`s no actual full frontal jewdity from either of them. Still maybe things will change and clothing lessen in the next season , or at least the one after that Anyway that aside it`s still a great show as the self centered uncaring attention seeking Sarah wreaks havoc each episode, while her too good to be true sister makes allowances and excuses for her. Also the next door neighbours are funny enough to have their separate show. Just a shame the guy who plays the cop isn`t the best with the old timing, and that there`s only six episodes in the tiny season. Would`ve been cool if they`d been more extras aswell , but then it only cost me a fiver so who am I to complain

I`d remembered watching the film when I was young and hadn`t thought it much cop , well apart from the cool looking cylon centurions . Also remembered the original TV show back in the early eighties which to be honest was pretty much total pants . All except for one episode that is where if memory serves a centurion and human cylon were stranded on earth during Halloween, now that was an episode i enjoyed as it was full of humour and had a bloody sad ending . Anyway what i`m saying is in general i didn`t hold BG in very high regard and so would never have purchased a season of the new show , let alone the entire complete box set. Thankfully a friend knew better and got me it and so since early Christmas morning i`ve been watching them , and holy crap the show is brilliant !. So brilliant in fact i`d actually put it on a par with Farscape . Not just because it has similar fantastic looking honeys , but that the script is tighter than a gnats chuff and as unpredictable as a woman !. Already on season three and it`s panning out in a way i would never have believed . Sure it would have been perfect if they`d actually built at least one proper centurion and not relied on slightly jarring CGI . Yet that aside the show is more or less flawless and i could not recommend it strongly enough

Supersets
Going to start soon on Smallville series 1 - 8, 48 discs which also feature the start of the Justice League of America.
Then the "ultimate" Superman movie boxset with 13 discs starting with the 4 movies featuring the big man himself Christopher Reeve. Featuring more than enough extras to bury Superman IV forever including George Reeves' Superman and the Mole-Men and the complete 1940's cartoon series. That should safely see 2010 in |
