I believe in equal pay for the same work at the same company in the same dept. for the same length of time when the work is done to the same standard.

I'm against 'Political Correctness' because it is increasingly becoming nothing more than Political Censoreship, where free speech is being attacked in greater strength with the excuse that some of it isn't acceptable because some of us don't agree with what's said/written.

A simple case in point is when none of the politically correct people complain when the Muslim Council of Great Britain invites radical muslim clerics who argue for the destruction of the west to Britain and yet the politically correct people jump up and down frothing at the mouth when a dutch man who says islam is a vicious religion is invited to Britain.

Nah, that's a dumb comparison. PC is about trying to treat people well, not something the Spanish Inquisition was known for. And it was largely a corrupt process...study your history.
The problem is not with PC, but with people who attempt to flog their own agenda under it's guise...or people who don't really grasp what it is about.

Firstly the Inquisition (though a bit of a red herring here) was not a corrupt process to the people who set it up and ran it. Neither was the Index Liborum. They were means of maintaining the purity of the faith. The fact that there were large swathes of people who disagreed with that faith was matterless, they were there to defend it. It eventually became corrupted, but it's purpose was to maintain the belief system of the people that created above all else.

PC may well have started out as trying to treat people well but it quickly morphed into intolerance of anyone elses' beliefs but those of the group think.

Lets get this straight Loosegoose. What political correctness has got us in the UK is that you are now probably more likely to get a bigger punishment in court for calling a man 'Paki' than you are for burgling his house. You have videos available on youtube of muslims marching through London on mass chanting 'British police go to hell/burn in hell' with no comeback while a Britain First member (Right wing protester) was banned from Luton for wearing a Britain First hat.

I'm not PC, but I'm definitely not racist (no Blacks or Asians ever bullied me in middle school or high school, for some reason...) and I never quite became a bigot except my feelings of defensiveness and/or resentment toward Catholics, Democrats/Republicans, and the more aggressive/intolerant subset of the Vietnam generation I would call "Bully Boomers" (now there is a stereotype worthy of Generation X!)

Seriously, I oppose the racism and anti-Semitism of various alt-right/right-wing groups such as the Ku Klux Klan or neo-Nazis, but come on. Anyone who played RPGs in the '70s and '80s has to at least get a chuckle out of people with outlandish costumes who think they are the Exalted Cyclops or Grand Dragon (maybe LARPing?!) Remember the tasteless joke I put on VEF: "Ku Klux Klan is just Dungeons & Dragons for Southerners..."

BTW, there are black people who make fun of the Klan and use the foul "N-word" more. The only people who I've even heard use the "N-word" in this millennium are, by far, African-Americans who are comics or rappers, or who listen to rap. The older whites possibly still use it in private, but Generation X and Millennials don't.

Gee. no Blacks or Asians ever bullied me in high school or middle school either. Mainly because there hardly were any. Damn, we were so white we had to pick on each other for other reasons. (Are Italians and Portuguese really white people? How about Mexicans?) Let's not forget that there was a time in this country where th Irish weren't considered white people. @Brian249x: There were some people with the surname "Nguyen" (a common Vietnamese surname) in my high school, and there were many African-Americans; about 10-12% of my school district according to Wikipedia. In middle school, when rap was new to us, there was a lot of pressure that everyone should listen to it, including whites. I had a wangsta friend say to me, "When you're around Black kids, don't sing white songs, sing Black songs..."
