Posted fix did not work for me. You can get around this new bullshit by Imagebam by using Image Host Grabber and pulling down all the pics on the page.

Just tried 5 images from 5 different posts...All worked within seconds...no pop-ups/unders just the streaming video screen under pictures...using k-meleon browser with no blocking other than windows xp pop-up blocker


As I've said in the past occasionally I'll get pictures which simply come up as a blank screen
as described above but they are more the exception than the norm.Then I come back in a few minutes and the same picture will appear or not,so possibly a matter of reliability of retrieval

Post a link to a post your having issues with so others can test it

At least that way you'll know where the issue lies

Adblock Plus is the issue. If you disable Adblock and refresh the page, the picture comes up fine, but so do their stinking ads.

Ok, the problem is solved, at least for subscribers to Easylist, which is just about everyone.

Open Adblock, then do Preferences-> Filters-> Update all subscriptions

For a long time, users of Adblock+ would see an "Ad blocker detected" message when viewing images on Imagebam. Today, they changed their setup so Adblock+ users could not see the images, just the warning. This was reported to the author of Easylist, he reacted instantly and tweaked the list to overcome Imagebam's tactic, and now everybody can see the pictures again. We still get the warning, though.

In other words, it looks like it did before, and if you didn't try to view anything on Imagebam earlier today, you'd never know anything happened. I hope I've explained it properly.

(Actually, just for your info., I've been using Imagebam for the last 16 hours --with all the warnings about ABP, too--without any problems at all. Hmmm, it seems that I have a mystery now ...)

From what I gather from reading the Easylist forum, this was all centered on a certain rule used by ABP for Imagebam..... if you had the rule enabled, suddenly you couldn't see the pictures. Once the rule was modified and sent out to subscribers, all was well. From this it's reasonable to deduce that you weren't using that rule, hence were unaffected.

i`ve had problems with imagebam ruining vef ... couldnt see any images for days,and i`d be buggered before allowing it into a "safe list" ...

but its back to normal today ... tons of hooters to prod and download
