Purim marks the survival of the Jews after the Persian king tried to murder them. People commemorate the festival with costumes of Queen Esther and Mordechai and more contemporary get-ups such as IDF uniforms.

I get it: you are on the side of those who murdered innocents on Oct 7th, and this child, doing what children do to mark Purim, is fair game for people to post their image around the world as an incitement to hate them. You know children: the ones Hamas targeted in their cowardly attack.

Society has rules about exposing children to danger, and also about posting their pictures without consent, especially when taken covertly. Well, civilised society does at least: others use them as human shields or just murder them.

He wasn't wearing a paraglider outfit, he was wearing the uniform of the armed forces of the Jewish State. A regular army recognised as such, not a paramilitary terrorist group.

Also, what the article Devius selected fails to mention is that this was around a mosque. It's borderline terrorism. Dressing up as a terrorist, with a realistic looking gun, around the people who the IDF is committing genocide against...

Windrush victim says Home Office ‘waiting for us to die off’ before paying compensation

A former soldier who was a victim of the Windrush scandal has said he fears the government is “waiting for us to die off” before it pays compensation.

Conroy Downie, 67, and his daughter Katie Wilson-Downie have helped advise thousands of people affected by the Windrush scandal and have called for the compensation scheme to be run independently instead of by the Home Office.

The scheme was launched five years ago this week by the Home Office after widespread outrage over the Windrush scandal, in which thousands of British people, mainly of Caribbean origin, were wrongly classed as being in the country illegally. This led many to be wrongfully deported, lose their jobs and be denied access to healthcare and housing.

Downie was born in Jamaica and came to the UK as a teenager. He served in the British army and yet faced deportation twice and experienced homelessness due to not having documentation proving his immigration status.

Although Downie received compensation after a three-year wait, his claim has since been reopened because he was underpaid for the years he was homeless. Downie explained that his homelessness was caused by not having the immigration documentation he needed to get help from the council for housing.

“When I joined the British army to contribute my part to the crown and country, in my mind’s eye I thought that … for my children, my grandchildren and my great-grandchildren, I hoped society would give them a fair crack of the whip,” he said.

Why are you defending the scum who are targeting a child for dressing up in a costume to mark Purim? Actually, you're not just defending, you are actively promoting the abuse by using terms like 'terrorist', when this is a reflection on the minority who mistook this fancy dress costume as representing Hamas.

I would have been more concerned with this, which happened in the same community during Purim last year:

It's just the professional outrage merchants who are getting their knickers in a twist about this, and it's probably just a lack of intelligence that automatically assigns everyone with a weapon to be a Hamas terrorist:

Some acounts called the child a “Nazi” and an “animal”; others threatened to attack him equated the IDF with Hamas.

That's the problem when people use acronyms: the hard of understanding can't work out what they mean, and quite probably think the IDF is another branch of the IRA...
Mind you, they only have to look up the Independent Member and see if he's a supporter or not, and realise that IRA - good, IDF - bad.

There have been children dressing up in uniforms for some years now, both as law enforcement and armed forces, but it's only the apparent inability to distinguish between Hamas & the IDF this year that's causing the morons to froth at the mouth about it.

Eleven years ago, and there are multiple kids dressed as Police.

Four years ago, there were Police, SWAT, USAF, yet I don't recall much in the way of revulsion. None of those kids were brutally attacked online.

He was dressed as a foreign soldier, that's enough for me. If he wants to show patriotism then he should wear OUR military uniform, not one of a foreign country.
