LOrd Triesman goes from the FA-will that harm our bid -? No! I don't think it will because we moved heaven and earth to quickly apologise and one man's beliefs is not held by the whole of the FA movement. However I could believe that this thing with Spain and Russia could happen, lets face it Sepp Blatter is bloody useless with FIFA, he should have gone ages ago, but is now in line for another 4-5 years tenure. I think he and Lennart Johannson were the biggest crooks in football and I am prepared to believe that deals were done to secure many international tournaments and that bribes did occur. The whole of FIFA is corrupt and a new broom would sweep that all aside. UEFA was certain not immune thanks to that clown Johannson.
WELL DONE ENGLAND! We beat the Aussies and secure a World Cup win for the first time in decades-at last perhaps we have a team that can take on the world each time and beat them-roll on the Ashes in 2011!

I dont think it could happen because as the guy on the BBC said Spain and Russia would need to corrupt another 3-4 members to have any possibility of it happening. Spain would in my view not want to risk it because if they were caught, or any team was caught they would likely be banned from comepetitions for a long time.
In the old days it might be possible, but with so many tv angles, so much media interaction, online forums etc its just too much risk for a team to take in my view. In smaller countries and lower leagues its not difficult, but I would imagine any suspicious activity in a World Cup would be spotted by millions of people. |

There was one with Helmut Kohl, too
hehehe! Maybe Germans remember the famous pic of Helmut Kohl getting off a Luftwaffe plane Unfortunately, his large head concealed the letters "Luftw" which meant the pic had his head and the letters "affe" (which means APE) Conservatives were upset about it |

FREE SPEACH
Obama Czar Wants Mandatory Government
Propaganda On Political Websites http://www.prisonplanet.com/obama-cz...-websites.html quote "Sunstein said that if this system couldn’t be implemented voluntarily, “Congress should hold hearings about mandates,” which would legally force people to dilute their own free speech. The Harvard Professor also said that blogs should be forced to list a random draw of 25 popular websites, such as CNN.com." Like him or hate him Alex Jones like every American has the right too free speech and when laws such as this are passed, where does it end. Who knows, threads where we talk about politics are forced to close down or made too link too peoples views we wouldn't puke on if we had the chance. As a Scotsman looking from the outside in, America is becoming a real scary place...

Why are they always called Tsars(Czars)?
If we ever get to a state when you can't discuss, disagree about or lampoon British Politics then we are in real trouble and become a police state a la 1984 and newspeak, Room 101 etc. Imagine if forums/websites were subject to gagging orders because politicians didn't like what was said by the British people-unthinkable. We've had satire and freedom of speech about politics for centuries, indeed every May Day Bank Holiday it is our constitutional right to march on Parliament or protest. I wouldn't want to live in a country that shot first and asked questions later, let alone didn't allow a peaceful demonstration. On that subject I hope that computer chap gets tried here and not in America because that seems to me to be completely ludicrous and a typical knee-jerk reaction to what looks on the face of it a silly yet non-terrorist search for UFO's. Latest wheeze from Channel Four-remember that ludicrous Bunker idea? - the premise of that was a million pounds was available to the winner but it would start to countdown and lessen if a game was lost or a disagreement as to who would stay or go from the said Bunker. The winner ended up with considerably less than a million... well this time contestants will bet £1m on subjects to double their prize but of course will lose some or all of it if their bet is unsuccessful-I bet thats another Endemol idea(from the people that brought you Big Brother) And guess who they've picked to front it...yes Davina smegging McCall-ye gods have we not seen her enough on tv. It says something about the press here when we win a World Cup(Cricket ICC Twenty20) and it warrants less coverage than if it was the Football-we have some very odd priorities sometimes. I think they did a great job and bodes well for future matches like that.

Congratulations to the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team. For only the fourth time in ALL of professional sports in North America a team came back from a 3-0 deficit to win a best of seven series. As well, they were losing game seven 3-0 and scored four unanswered goals to win the game. To top it off they entered the series missing three star players to injury and their starting goaltender, Brian Boucher, was injured during the series. The goalie who came in to replace him had himself been hurt and had been released by another NHL team earlier in the season and was only picked up by the Flyers because their original starting goalie, Ray Emery, was lost for the season due to injury.
The team Philadelphia will be playing for the Eastern Conference championship, the Montreal Canadiens, came back from a 3-1 deficit to beat the defending Stanley Cup champions. They too are playing a back up goaltender and a couple of players who had never played an NHL game and were were called up from the minors due to injuries. These two teams were ranked 7 and 8 out of 8 in the Eastern Conference entering the playoffs. The Flyers only made the playoffs after going to overtime and then to a sudden death shootout on the final day of the season. Win or lose this has been a fairy tale experience for the Flyers. Note: In game one of the series Flyers goalie Michael Leighton stopped all 28 Montreal shots and his team won 6-0.
